Founded in 1924 by Harold & Wallace Humphreys, no footballing brand can rival Umbro's history in the game. Seen by many as the original football brand, Umbro could talk all day about their past achievements but on their 90th birthday they're looking to the future, they're back in the game and ready to write a new chapter.
The past seven years have seen a couple of monumental shake ups for the brand, in March 2008, Umbro were bought by Nike.Inc in a deal worth around £285 million but with things now settled under new owners Iconix Brand Group, Umbro can begin to re-store their identity, put footballing product first and use the romantic story of their past to inspire new avenues of design and development.
The famous Double Diamond brand are proud of their British roots but they're much more than that, Umbro are more relevant today than ever before, they're not just a brand that people have heard about, they're not just a brand that used to make the England kit. They take pride in who they work with, the personal service they offer and with a killer 2015 product line up their sleeve they're ready to start doing things the right way again, the Umbro way.
