After releasing their brand new GeoFLARE boots Umbro have ensured the Speciali gets in on the act with a new look for the forthcoming season. The brand's famous boot has been given a black/lava pink makeover to kick off the new campaign in style...
The Speciali 4 is renown for its comfort and classic design and the latest incarnation of the iconic boot will be worn from July 2013 by Umbro players such as England internationals Andy Carroll and Joe Hart and young Sporting Lisbon defender Eric Dier. The contrast between the traditional black and vibrant pink creates a traditional boot with a modern twist so we're expecting these to look pretty hot on pitch.
The Speciali also features plenty of innovative technical attributes to help players at every level, including soft-touch collar lining for increased comfort and fit and additional memory-foam on the tongue to aid fit and enhance comfort. The boot is contoured from the original Speciali last, known for its snug professional fit and is widely regarded as one of the most comfortable boots on the market.
Over the last 20 years, the Speciali has graced the feet of some of the game’s greats and that doesn't get achieved unless you've got a world class product. Umbro use their finest grade soft leather on the Speciali with an improved vamp package for expert touch when recieving the ball. The upper is flexible and will mould to your foot in the way that only a traditional leather boot will.
Umbro releases may becoming less frequent but the one thing you can be assured of with the Speciali is quality and a boot that will last for a few seasons. The Speciali baton has been passed on the England squad from Alan Shearer to Michael Owen and now falls at the feet of Andy Carroll. No pressure.
In an effort to reduce weight and maintain quality, the Umbro Speciali III utilises a combination of full-grain leather and microfibre upper materials. The forefoot and instep comprise of full-grain leather, ensuring the Speciali's famed quality and comfort, while the rest of the boot is made from a microfibre to help shave some grams off the weight.
Umbro have also slapped the same black/lava pink paint job on their Geometra 2 football boots to coincide with the GeoFLARE and Speciali to give the brand a distinctively fresh look ahead of the new season. The Geometra II features offset lacing as well as a lightweight full grain leather vamp for greater touch and control. The boot also features re-ground rubber zones to enhance grip, control and spin.
The new Umbro Speciali 4 and Geometra 2 boots will be available from around September at selected online retailers including Pro-Direct Soccer. Thoughts on the new colourway? Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
