Not that Umbro have necessarily got their lead asset in mind, but we can't help thinking these new Violet/Blue/Green Umbro GT II Pro football boots are going to be a great match for Kyle Walker and the Tottenham colours. After previously being released in all-yellow and all-red colourways, Umbro are certainly keen to get their GT range noticed on the pitch...
Launched at the end of 2011, The Umbro GT Pro II football boots are the second generation of one of footballs most recent boot silo's. The Umbro GT range began it's journey back in July 2010, and since then has snared such young stars as Kyle Walker and Connor Wickham as lead wearers.
Umbro's lightest, fastest and most futuristic boots yet, the second generation GT Pro is a considerable step forward for their speed silo. Venturing into a very competitive speed market with an eccentric look fitting of a speed boot, there's something almost pure about the GT II as it hasn't been distracted by leather options or the addition of data technology.
The Umbro GT II Pro features a lightweight Japanese micro-fibre upper that provides both softness and strength, with asymmetric concealed lacing for a greater striking surface. Converts to the Umbro GT were quick to compliment the boots great fit - a focus Umbro have looked to further improve with the GT II Pro football boots.
The upper is coated with a print application for enhanced ball touch, and ably assisted by ridged lines radiating from the toe area out through the Umbro logo. The surface of the GT II Pro generates additional friction for boot-to-ball contact and control in wet conditions.
The Umbro GT II Pro comes with a lightweight sole plate that is built to give improved grip and traction giving you an extra boost when you're skipping away from defenders. The Umbro GT II Pro will be available in both SG and FG stud configurations, with the FG blades hollowed out to further lighten the load.
Built on a newly developed anatomical last, the Umbro GT II Pro soccer cleats are designed to offer the player a better fit, while the removable sock-line with Poron Performances inserts complete the feeling of comfort we've come to expect from Umbro football boots.
The Violet/Blue/Green colourway is a bright and eye-catching colour scheme that might divide Umbro fans. Inspired by movement and speed, the boot graphic features a large concealed Umbro logo and is one of the most unique aspects of the Umbro GT II Pro.
We can't help but feel the Umbro GT Pro football boots are a slight nod to an earlier generation of speed boots, when the Vapor III and F50 Tunit ruled the market. Perhaps this is what makes them appealing to boot fans, and with this new Violet colourway they certainly fit the bill!
The new Violet/Blue/Green Umbro GT II Pro football boots are expected to launch globally on July 15th, but are available to pre-order now. You'll be able to bag yourself a pair of Umbro's latest speed boots for around £90 GBP/$140 USD/€ 110 EURO.
