It seems the idea of a modern speed boot, or a speed boot wearer, is to make an impression on the pitch! Which is something Under Armour have certainly achieved with their new yellow/denim/silver colourway for the new Create Pro football boots.
The first Under Armour Create Pro football boots had a slick black colour scheme, but this new yellow and denim colourway really stands out. But looks aside, what performance attributes do these football boots offer? Under Armour have told us the Create Pro football boots are for speed players who want "agility, speed and control" whilst offering "responsiveness and protection".
The new colourway really draws out the design and structure of the Under Armour Create Pro football boots, and you instantly notice the exoskeletal support frame that runs across the upper. Not only does this offer increased fit, but it aims to keep the foot more secure and stable.
Under Armour are famous for their base layers, so it comes as no surprise that the Create Pro football boots benefit from the addition of Under Armour's patented Heat Gear technology. Allowing more ventilation and helping with moisture management.
The boot upper, which is perforated to help with air-flow, is made from a synthetic material designed to be lightweight and responsive. The material is thin and cushioned throughout, and despite the boots exoskeletal frame, is soft to touch for good ball feel.
The toe area is clean for a great strike of the ball, and this is further complimented by the laces being recessed behind a framework. The lacing system of the Under Armour Create Pro football boots is central, which couples with a great deal of support in the heel and ankle area for a secure and stable fitting football boot.
The sole and stud configuration of the Create Pro utilises a feature dubbed "Armour Bound". This is designed to reduce stud pressure and offer increased cushioning, whilst the specific stud placement is the result of research and development aimed to offer increased "metatarsal support and directional stability".
The new yellow/denim/silver colourway will be available in 6 stud soft ground and 14 stud firm/hard ground sole plates, with the soft ground editions expected to retail at around £110 GBP and £100 GBP for the firm ground editions. These new Under Armour Create Pro football boots will be available to pre-order from 1st November ahead of a 1st December release, and we'll keeping an eye out to see who will debut these striking new football boots!
