Almost a year to the day since the reveal of the massively successful first generation boot the evoPOWER 1.2 is once again inspired by barefoot kicking. Using a lightweight and super soft microfiber Adaptlite upper material the boot stretches in a longitudinal not lateral direction allowing a freedom of movement while maintaining support.
PUMA have left the Gradual Stability Frame outsole technology untouched from the first generation, which allows the foot to bend in a motion similar to a barefoot to help players create increased shot power. It's the accuracy game though which PUMA have focused on by introducing GripTex print that runs across the full length of the upper. The print, also found on the evoSPEED silo, enhances the grip of the ball in wet & dry conditions, for increased control.
The trademark AccuFoam lining found on the first-gen boot is re-shaped and re-located to cover a larger surface of the upper providing a clean kicking surface, which helps to increase accuracy.
Mario Balotelli, who will join Cesc Fabregas in the evoPOWER 1.2 when Liverpool face Chelsea in the League Cup tonight, chipped in with his thoughts; "The new evoPOWER is really impressive. I've been testing them for a while in training and PUMA have made an already very good boot even better. I can feel the power evoPOWER gives me when I shoot, I'm looking forward to wearing them on pitch." Happy Mario = Happy everyone.
The PUMA evoPOWER 1.2 will be available globally at selected online stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer from 2 Feb. Thoughts? Drop us a line below.
