PUMA are the undisputed 'Kings of Collaboration' when it comes to football boots. Hooking up with designer fashion brands to sports car manufacturers to luxury watch makers PUMA have a back-catalogue of partnerships like none of their competitors and we've put the full collection together to see how the latest foursome stack up against the rest.
Cedella Marley - The first collaboration on the evoSPEED came in June 2012 when PUMA teamed up with Bob Marley's daughter and fashion designer Cedella Marley to mastermind a Jamaican themed design with a helping of reggae flavour. A Jamaican flag was placed on the heel of the boot which featured Cedella's legendary father on the outstep.
Ducati - Four months after the Cedella Marley collaboration dropped PUMA had joined forces with the fastest name on two wheels, Ducati. Weighing just 160g the unique look was inspired by the speed and aerodynamic silhouettes of a Ducati motorbike.
Hublot - PUMA added to their collaboration collection in June 2013 by linking up with luxury watch maker Hublot. The partnership came about at the same time as Hublot signed a deal to become official timekeepers of the 2014 World Cup. Both brands sponsor Falcao and they paired up to create 60 pairs of limited boots, which you could only get hold of if you bought a $17,000 watch. We were sent the boots, but we're still waiting for our watch...
BMW - PUMA used the sleek design & shapes of racing cars as inspiration for the evoSPEED and after successful collaborations with Ferrari on the v1.815 silo PUMA turned to motorsport again by collaborating with BMW. Just 535 pairs of the evoSPEED BMW boots were released, each bearing BMW's M Series badge on the side and logo on the heel.
BAPE - The latest set of PUMA collaborations came in July this year as PUMA doubled their collection of evoSPEED partnerships. One of those brands to be supplied with a blank evoSPEED canvas was A Bathing Ape who opted for a an all-over camo print complete with signature Ape logo on the tongue.
ALIFE - ALIFE used the most dominant branding out of the quartet of streetwear labels with a colourful combination of looming logos calling out the New York high-end fashion brand. A limited edition run of the ALIFE evoSPEED boots retailed for £200.
KITH - PUMA showed off the versatility of their evoSPEED silo by hooking up with another fashion label from New York City. KITH left their mark on the lightweight speed boot with a unique design as the two worlds of football and fashion collided.
COLETTE - COLETTE added some French flair to the evoSPEED with a clean design that reflected the image of the brand. Minor branding on the tongue and a cool icy-blue upper created the slickest look out of the latest four PUMA evoSPEED collaborations.
