PUMA Reveal African Nation 2014 World Cup Kits - Football Shirts

 

PUMA have revealed the new national kits for all four of their African nations heading to Brazil this summer. Algeria, Cameroon, Ghana and Ivory Coast have all received new home and away strips, which they'll wear for the first time in this week's set of International friendly fixtures.
 

All PUMA national teams feature PUMA’s new football apparel innovation PWR ACTV, a first-to-market use of both athletic taping and compression within the apparel. The ACTV tape is strategically placed within the garment to provide micro-massages on the skin, working with the body to help maximise performance and provide players with a faster, more effective energy supply to the active muscles.

 

 

 

The Ghana home shirt features bold African inspired graphic print inserts on the neck and sleeves that represent the pride of Ghana and their nickname - the Black Stars. The print is created in the national flag colours, with stars and a football field graphic.

Ghana will debut the new away kit in tonight's friendly match with Montenegro as they prepare to build on their quarter final appearance four years ago in South Africa.
 

 

Out of all the African PUMA nations, Cameroon has undoubtedly the most visually impressive set of kits. The kits are wrapped in a dominant tribal pattern to create one of the most unique shirt collections to feature at the World Cup this summer.

 

Ivory Coast's home & away jerseys are presented in all orange and green for a simplistic but strikingly bold presence and Yaya Toure likes it "I’m excited to play in it because I really like it. I like it and I hope that it brings us luck." See. Ivory Coast will fancy their chances of progression from a Group C that contains Colombia, Japan & Greece.


Algeria have opted for a sleeker more simplistic vibe with their home and away shirts. The North Africans, who famously held England to a 0-0 draw at the 2010 World Cup will be looking to spring another surprise against their Group H opponents, Belgium, Russia and South Korea.
