In amongst the knitted mayhem currently being caused by adidas and Nike, PUMA have dropped a cheeky colour-up on their classic heritage boot, the King. Flipping the switch on last year's King Lux colourway, the black upper is replaced with an all white and silver trim design.
When it comes to heritage boots the PUMA King is still well, the king. Often the choice for the traditionalists among us, the boots manage to retain their heritage roots with a traditional leather upper and low key design. But with the use of modern technologies and stylish new colourways the King is still relevant in today's market.
In recent months the PUMA King has been overshadowed by PUMA's new baby, the evoPOWER, with King stalwarts such as Yaya Toure and Peter Crouch both switching to the new boot. However a stylish colour-up such as this will do the boots appeal no harm whatsoever.
The current PUMA King is the lightest King model ever made, weighing just over the 200g mark. A respectable weight for any boot that's made with a traditional leather upper. The super-soft premium material adapts to the natural curves of the foot for exceptional comfort and ball touch.
The lightweight Pebax outsole on the standard issues uses a mix of conical and traction studs to ensure an equal balance between flexibility, grip and maneuverability, while the external heel counter with classic King branding gives improved heel fit, extra stability and solid protection.
The new white PUMA King football boots are available from selected stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. What do you think of the colour update? Let us know. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
