PUMA have launched their latest release to the 'Graphic' series - the new 'Dia del Futbol' PowerCat 1.2 - and they're totally out of this world. If there's one brand that really swings for the fence with their special edition designs, it's PUMA. Kudos to the big cat...we think.
PUMA are known for mustering up wild concoctions. Bigger, bolder, and even more crazy, the new "Dia del Futbol" PowerCat certainly fits the bill. While you might not have the stomach to wear these, PUMA get serious props for putting these out there. Leave it to the folks at PUMA for producing a boot that is deserving of your attention.
From the PowerCat Gravity to the PowerCat Tokyo, each of PUMA's 'Graphic' boots are wild works of art. The newly titled 'Dia del Futbol' (Day of Football) PowerCat 1.2 is a nod towards the boots visual inspiration, taken from the Mexican 'Day of the Dead' holiday. It would certainly take a brave soul to wear them.
Football is often said to be a ritual so when PUMA were looking for inspiration they turned to the Day of the Dead holiday. The boots have a look to die for with 'Dia del Futbol' graphics across the upper and a skull design on the tongue and a skeletal design on the sole plate.
They aren't your average looking football boots, far from it. But the crazy design is ridiculous enough that we've found ourselves falling victim to the pink cat, and outrageous visual art work. If you're going to bag a pair of these, you better hope your team mates and opposition have a good sense of humour!
Underneath the aesthetics it's your standard PowerCat, but less about that. For each shoe PUMA have rotated the white and black coloured areas of the boot, giving us two contrasting designs - another unique take by the German brand. So go on then, what's it going to take for you to slip a pair of these on? We dare you.
The new 'Dia del Futbol PUMA PowerCat Graphic football boots will be available at selected online retailers including Pro-Direct Soccer. Maddest football boot of the year? Let us know what you think. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
