PUMA know no boundaries when it comes to footwear design. The Germans have a reputation for producing some of the games wildest football boots. So when you've already collaborated with Ferrari, Ducati, Cedella Marley & released boots including the v1.10 Lightning SL and the Tokyo PowerCat, where do you go next?
PUMA's latest trick kicks-off their reveal campaign for the next generation evoSPEED. Forget black-out prototypes, when it comes to speed boots PUMA have their own way of seeding new boot models into the game! So here it is, the limited edition evoSPEED 1.2 CAMO - a design based on...wait for it...the Ishihara test for colour blindness!
The one-off football boots feature random sized dots in various shades of 'sachet pink' and 'virtual pink'. According to PUMA, "the distinctive CAMO graphic on the boots disguise the very latest evoSPEED technology." They will be released in strictly limited numbers and will be worn by lead evoSPEED athletes Radamel Falcao & Sergio Aguero.
Unlike some of PUMA's previous limited edition football boots, the evoSPEED 1.2 CAMO will be trusted to deliver on pitch in the Premier League and La Liga. Sergio Aguero is scheduled to wear the boots in Manchester City's away trip to Swansea and the club's FA Cup final date with Wigan. La Liga hot-shot Radamel Falcao will also put the boots into action during Atletico Madrid's upcoming fixtures with Deportivo and Barcelona.
The boot is PUMA's second 'CAMO' release, following last season's equally eccentric 'Razzle Dazzle' design worn by Sergio Aguero. The same boot was also used as a pre-cursor to the debut evoSPEED model. The pending release of their latest weapon in speed is certainly something to get excited about, with PUMA hoping to continue the success of the initial evoSPEED 1.2.
The PUMA evoSPEED 1.2 CAMO is available to pre-order now at selected online stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. We can't wait to see these boots on pitch! Let us know what you think of the wacky design. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
