When you think of PUMA players, Cesc Fabregas is now one of the first names on your mind. The Spanish maestro has enjoyed a good relationship with the brand since ditching Nike before joining Barcelona last season.
Thanks to PUMA, we've landed a pair of Cesc's match-worn PowerCats used in Spain's international friendly fixture against England. The boots were given away as part of PUMA's “For Real” campaign partnered exclusively with SoccerBible – not before we sent them into the studio for some up-close attention.
After luring Cesc from the grasp of Nike last year, the Barcelona play-maker has headlined the PowerCat 1.12 range with the typical Spanish flair he is known for. On the international stage, PUMA give Fabregas his own set of boots, bespoke with 'Cesc 10' personalisation and his own signature on the instep.
The customisation doesn't stop there. As it's widely known Fabregas has his PowerCat 1.12 boots fitted with a PUMA King sole-plate, replacing the standard Pebax outsole with the TPU injected outsole and conical stud design used on the PUMA King Finale.
Cesc's custom boots have also been stripped of the external TPU-injected heel counter featured on the standard editions.
After nearly three years in the game, PUMA's line-up of PowerCat wearers is the strongest it's ever been. Cesc Fabregas headlines an impressive roster including Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus, Manchester United duo Michael Carrick and Nemanja Vidic, Arsenal's Tomas Rosicky and Bacary Sagna and AC Milan midfielder Nigel De Jong.
