PUMA drop their second release to the re-worked PowerCat 1.12 SL range. As worn by Cesc Fabregas in Barcelona’s opening Champions League group match against Spartak Moscow, the stylish new design succeeds the popular White/Red/Limoges Euro 2012 colourway. Let us know what you think!
Expect to see PUMA's PowerCat stable take to the field wearing the new Black/White/Yellow design starting this weekend. Cesc Fabregas will be joined by Puma athletes including Marco Reus, Nigel de Jong, Nemanja Vidi膰 and others.
The PUMA PowerCat 1.12 SL is a reworked and lighter version of the popular power boot. Subtle changes have been introduced to reduce the overall weight. A perforated tongue and a softer, lighter leather certainly raise the bar from the standard PowerCat 1.12.
The Black/White/Yellow PowerCat 1.12 will be PUMA's seventh release to the range and the first to feature a black upper. With headline names Cesc Fabregas and Marco Reus representing the silo, PUMA are continuing to establish the PowerCats reputation as a creative midfielders boot.
Much of the PowerCats standard technologies remain, with the PowerCat SL featuring the same advancements that made the boot one of the versatile in the game. The 3D DUO Power Shooting technology is still the stand-out features and is applied to the kicking area on the inside.
The shooting technology is made from an innovative thermoplastic material with two different degrees of hardness, creating the advantage of being both highly responsive with extremely high rebound properties.
The kicking area of the PowerCat 1.12 SL is enhanced by a soft K-Leather while the lightweight microfibre material in the lateral quarter supports the mid-foot and helps to keep the weight of the boot to a minimum.
In another effort to reduce weight, the PUMA PowerCat 1.12 SL features a newly introduced Pebax injected stud configuration, noticeably used on the v1.11 and Mizuno Morelia Neo. The Puma PowerLast, an evolution of the Puma AptoLast, follows the foot’s natural contours, providing a glove like fit allowing the upper to mould to the players foot.
Expect to see the Black/White/Yellow PUMA PowerCat 1.12 SL on pitch across Europe this weekend. The boots are available to pre-order now from selected online stockists for around £180 GBP / €215 EURO / $210 USD.
