In just a matter of months the Puma evoSPEED has made a real impact. From Sergio Aguero's Premier League winning strike to Mario Gomez's hat-trick of Euro 2012 goals, Puma's lightweight speed boot has hit the ground running. Now Puma have landed a new colourway in time for the 2012/13 season kick-off.
The adventurously bright Orange/Charcoal/Green colourway is the Puma's fourth release to the evoSPEED catalogue, following in the footsteps of the Jamaican-themed Cedella Marley limited release. Check them out and let us know what you think.
The leather versions are the boot choice of Sergio Aguero, and the Puma evoSPEED 1 is designed to help players achieve top speed and enhance their manoeuvrability. This summer the evoSPEED 1 FG will be worn on pitch by a variety of Puma footballers, which alongside Aguero includes Mario Gomez and Radamel Falcao.
The leather speed market has become one of the most competitive in the game. But unlike other leather speed boots, the Puma evoSPEED 1 football boots are designed to cover the three main criteria of light, flex and fit, whilst weighing in at just 193g.
In contrast to the retired v1 series, the new evoSPEED 1 utilises a newly configured moulded stud configuration that replaces the pointed stud design used on the v1.11. Puma no longer use a carbon-fibre plate in the forefoot, while their UNI technology has also been left on the cutting room floor in a more stripped-back design.
The anatomically engineered lightweight one-piece outsole provides stability and support, utilising high-tech materials to minimize weight and to maximize its flexibility and reactivity. The Puma evoSPEED 1 features an external heel counter which secures an excellent heel fit and the new Puma evoAptoLast which provides an industry leading fit.
One of the most noticeable changes that came with the launch of the Puma evoSPEED was the introduction of a new lightening formstripe. The signature graphic emphasizes speed and harkens back to Usain Bolt. It is featured across the complete Puma evoSPEED footwear collection.
Even the lacing system has been designed for performance, with the lace material tightly knit and closely bonded for a lower profile across the loop holes for a cleaner ball strike, but then the material is looser and more flexible towards the ends where they are tied.
Puma's latest colourway will be available in both a k-leather upper and FG/SG synthetic editions. The Orange/Charcoal/Green PUMA evoSPEED 1 k-leather football boots are available to pre-order from today, with a dispatch date of August 1st and will hit the market at around £150.00 GBP / $200.00 USD / €180.00 EURO.
