Staggered slightly from the launch of the new White/Limoges/Red evoSPEED football boots, PUMA have released this Black/White/Orange supporting colourway for their next generation of lightweight speed boots. The German sports giants have re-packaged their v1 series, and with a reputation for leather speed boots the evoSPEED is expected to deliver advanced performance.
The leather speed market has become one of the most competitive, and the evoSPEED is expected to go toe-to-toe with some big names in the game. But as the PUMA evoSPEED 1 football boots are designed to cover the three main criteria of light, flex and fit, whilst weighing in at just 193g we reckon they're a force to be reckoned with.
The leather versions are the boot choice of Sergio Aguero, and the PUMA evoSPEED 1 is designed to help players achieve top speed and enhance their manoeuvrability. This summer the evoSPEED 1 FG will be worn on pitch by a variety of PUMA footballers, which alongside Aguero includes Mario Gomez and Radamel Falcao.
Lead wearer of the evoSPEED football boots range Sergio Aguero commented, “The new boot really impressed me. As a striker I always need to get up to speed very quickly and the boot seems to be perfectly suitable for this. I like how flexible the sole is, it helps me to change directions quicker and really distinguishes it from other football boots”.
Part of PUMA’s newly launched evoSPEED cross category product offering, the evoSPEED styles will be worn by PUMA’s key athletes throughout this summer and beyond. The evoSPEED styles will be worn by PUMA’s key athletes in running (e.g. Usain Bolt), football (e.g. Sergio Aguero), motorsport (e.g. Fernando Alonso), golf (e.g. Rickie Fowler), cricket (e.g. Yuvraj Singh) and indoor sports (e.g. Luc Abalo) this summer and beyond.
In contrast to the retired v1 series, the new evoSPEED 1 utilises a newly configured moulded stud configuration that replaces the pointed stud design used on the v1.11. PUMA no longer find room for the carbon-fibre plate in the forefoot, while their UNI technology has also been left on the cutting room floor in a more stripped-back design.
The anatomically engineered lightweight one-piece outsole provides stability and support, utilising high-tech materials to minimize weight and to maximize its flexibility and reactivity. The PUMA evoSPEED 1 features an external heel counter which secures an excellent heel fit and the new PUMA evoAptoLast which provides an industry leading fit.
For the first time in PUMA’s history, the classic Formstripe has been changed and a new lightening version, a signature graphic that emphasizes speed and harkens back to Usain Bolt, will be featured on the complete PUMA evoSPEED footwear collection.
Even the lacing system has been designed for performance, with the lace material tightly knit and closely bonded for a lower profile across the loop holes for a cleaner ball strike, but then the material is looser and more flexible towards the ends where they are tied.
The whole PUMA evoSPEED collection takes performance technology and innovations and incorporates them in footwear and apparel developed for various sports categories. All PUMA evoSPEED footwear features lightweight materials, increased flexibility and an optimized fit that enables a greater freedom of movement without compromising support, to enhance speed.
Available to pre-order from today, the Black/White/Orange PUMA evoSPEED 1 k-leather football boots offer a more classic look to the launch colourway, and will be ready to dispatch from June 18th and will hit the market at around £150.00 GBP / $200.00 USD / €180.00 EURO.
