Puma add to their catalogue of summer football boots with the launch of the stunning PUMA PowerCat 1.12 SL – a reworked and lighter version of their popular power boot. The boot will be worn by Cesc Fabregas, Phil Jones, Nigel De Jong, Marco Reus and Gianluigi Buffon at the European Championships.
PUMA have upgraded the PowerCat 1.12, making minor adjustments to one of last seasons best performing football boots. Designed in the same colourway that will run across each of PUMA's silos for EC12, the new White/Red/Limoges PowerCat 1.12 SL will be one of the best looking boots to travel to Poland & Ukraine this summer!
Puma have been right on the money with their colourways this year. The same White/Red/Limoges design will run across each of the brands three silos set to be worn by PUMA's stable of international stars at the European Championships. Featuring the evoSPEED 1, PowerCat 1.12 SL and King Finale SL, we can't wait to see this collection getting some game-time from the likes of Fabregas, Gomez and co!
The modern boot market demands lightweight products. Despite being repackaged as an 'SL' version, PUMA haven't gone overboard in shaving weight off their headline power boot. Subtle changes from a redesigned perforated tongue to a softer, lighter leather make the PowerCat 1.12 SL a worthy upgrade.
Much of the same technologies remain, with the SL boot housing all of the features that made the PowerCat one of the most advanced and versatile boots on the market. The 3D DUO Power Shooting Technology is still the stand-out feature and is applied to the kicking area on the inside of the boot.
It is made from an innovative thermoplastic material with two different degrees of hardness, creating the advantage of being both highly responsive with extremely high rebound properties.
In another effort to reduce weight, the PUMA PowerCat 1.12 SL features a newly introduced Pebax injected stud configuration, noticeably used on the v1.11 and Mizuno Morelia Neo. The Puma PowerLast, an evolution of the Puma AptoLast, follows the foot’s natural contours, providing a glove like fit allowing the upper to mould to players fit.
The newly created Puma 3D PST DUO technology enables improved grip on the ball through its exposed elements, and instead of absorbing the energy it increases the kicking power of the player. The kicking area is enhanced by a soft K-Leather while the lightweight microfibre material in the lateral quarter supports the mid-foot and helps to keep the weight of the boot to a minimum.
The PUMA PowerCat 1.12 SL is a combination of engineering and comfort. The improved, less asymmetrical lacing system allow for a snug yet comfortable fit while optimal support, stability and protection are provided by the asymmetrical external TPU-injected heel counter.
The new White/Red/Limoges PUMA PowerCat 1.12 SL is available to pre-order now and will begin shipping from June 1st. The 'SL' boots will hit shelves at the increased price of £180.00 GBP / $210.00 USD. The standard editions will also be available to buy in both FG and SG.
