Puma's fastest and lightest football boots have undergone the v1.11 treatment, so let's introduce the next generation Puma v1.11 SL football boots. Launched in the very eye-catching Fluo Green/Navy/White colourway, the Puma v1.11 SL is a combination of unique design and innovative materials.
The v1 range holds an esteemed place within the speed market, thanks to Puma's penchant for the different. Their desire to manufacture the fastest football boots has seen Puma team up with the likes of Ferrari and Usain Bolt, delve into new technologies and experiment with such materials as thermoplastics.
The end product of Puma's design and engineering is a football boot that weighs-in at a staggering 150 grams! The decision Puma faced when creating the v1.11 SL, was do they continue to compete for the crown of lightest production football boot, or do they turn they're focus on enhancing the product they already? Clearly it's the latter option Puma decided upon, and the v1.11 SL is definitely a better performance boot.
The Puma v1.10 SL was a stunning boot when first released. It was the lightest ever production boot, with all the components in place to be a great boot, however, it felt like it needed to be revamped slightly to realise it's potential.
The new Puma v1.11 SL soccer shoes come fully equipped with a super-soft and ultra-thin microfibre synthetic upper that features new unique padded zones for improved ball contact, further enhanced by the new 'hidden' lacing system on the instep. The extremely soft upper material is great for comfort and ball feel, while providing slightly more protection than the v1.10 SL.
The champion component of the Puma v1.11 SL football boots is the unique outsole, a successful carry over from the v1.10 versions. Engineered from a revolutionary Thermoplastic, the Pebax material offers outstanding mechanical, physical and chemical properties, by bridging the gap between thermoplastics and rubbers. For a fraction of the weight, the Puma v1.11 outsole offers enhanced stability, durability and support.
To further aid player support and movement, the external heel counter on the Puma v1.11 has been shaped and bonded to the upper, with strategically removed material to maintain a lightweight boot. As has proven a success in the standard v1 range, carbon fibre has been integrated into the outsole of the Puma v1.11 SL soccer shoes to enhance player movement through reactivity, flexibility and mid-foot stability.
Visually, the Puma v1.11 SL football boots are very different to the previous versions, with the Puma logo now an imposing presence on the side of the boots for a more aggressive look. Another feature revamped is the tongue, as the same ultra-thin microfibre material utilised for the upper continues for the tongue, instead of a soft material which didn't quite offer the same levels of protection and assist ball contact.
The new v1.11 SL is an evolution in Puma's elite top-end speed boot, and with a new look there is sure to be plenty of reaction to the new Puma v1.11 SL football boots. Available to pre-order from today for a 15th June release, you can get your hands on these lightweight speed football boots for around £200 GBP / $250 USD / €220 EURO.
