To accompany the new v1.10 colourways, Puma have released these brand new PowerCat 1.10 football boots which share the same colour-scheme as the v1's, but with a different variation. You can check out our full images of the new Puma football boots and leave your opinion here...
The Puma PowerCat 1.10 football boots don't quite share the same limelight as some of the major boot silo's, yet despite this lack of attention the PowerCat has established itself as a firm performer in the game and can boast quite an impressive cast list including Vidic, Chiellini, Carrick, Buffon, Crouch, Rosicky and Sagna.
The Puma PowerCat 1.10 soccer shoes are a great combination of engineering and comfort, and we can see that Puma are making great strides with their boot development. Because just like the v1.10 speed boots before them, the PowerCat's are unlike any Puma boot we have seen before.
The standout feature of the PowerCat football boots is the Puma 3D Power Shooting Technology (Puma 3D PST) located and built-into the boots kicking area. Designed to increase shooting power, while maintaining ball touch and feel, the 3D PST achieves increased shot power through it's extremely high rebound properties, absorbing more than the typical amount of energy upon ball impact and releasing more power with every shot.
For comfort, fit and ball feel, Puma have gone with a natural material and used a supersoft, premium kangaroo leather for the boot's upper. To improve fit, the boots have been formed around Puma's new anatomically-shaped PowerLast, an evolution of the Puma AptoLast. Which once again follows the foot's natural contours for a great fit, but provides more volume in the forefoot and instep allowing the upper to mould to the players foot. To further improve fit and comfort, the anatomically shaped removable sockliner provides cushioning and shock absorption.
The outsole of the Puma PowerCat 1.10 football boots have an external TPU-injected heel counter. This is lightweight and 'finger-shaped' to cradle the heel of the foot, and provides optimal support and stability during movement and ball striking, whilst offering protection. The outsole also features a new bladed stud configuration, to ensure smooth ground penetration and pressure distribution, while providing maximum traction and manoeuvrability.
The Puma PowerCat 1.10 soccer cleats are a boot that seem to really spark a debate due to their uniqueness, they are a comfortable boot that's a departure from the chunkier, more protective feel of their predecessor the v-Konstrukt series. Puma have been able to develop some unique technology within the competitive power and accuracy market, whether they've won over a majority is yet to be seen. But the injected Puma 3D Power Shooting Technology, the fresh Cat branding, and the supersoft kangaroo leather has made the PowerCat 1.10 a genuine choice for players of all positions.
The new White/Black/Snorkel Blue Puma PowerCat 1.10 football boots are available to pre-order now ahead of an early April release, they will be available from selected retailers and will set you back around £125 GBP/ $200 USD / €150 EURO / ¥16350 JPY.
