Puma signed off 2010 by launching the new King Finale football boots, for launch they chose a classic black colourway but now we're in the new year Puma are releasing this new White/Black/Team Gold edition to further entice King fans. Check out our full and exclusive images and tech info...
There's no denying that the Puma King is one of the long standing performers within the game of football, but rather than be classed as a heritage boot Puma are constantly looking to re-invent the King range and the Finale is the latest incarnation.
The King Finale boasts the famous soft and comfortable K leather upper for enhanced ball feel, yet crucially we feel the Finale upper is softer than the King XL. The Finale boot utilises the PUMA AptoLast which conforms to the natural shape of the foot, providing a snug super-comfortable fit and the outsole of the boot is made from a lightweight high performance thermoplastic elastomeric material, so for effort and ingenuity Puma score full marks.
There are many new features that make the King Finale stand-out, notably the redesigned traditional tongue which provides a cleaner kicking area and improved pressure distribution upon ball impact. The tongue fits securely in place courtesy of an integrated Velcro fastening.
When the new Puma King was released it received a mixed reaction, despite being mostly positive, we couldn't help but feel this was because they limited themselves to just one colourway. Other brands seem to release two colours for launch to please their fans, so we're hoping now Puma have released these white editions they will win over even more fans.
Puma have paid close attention to detail for the King Finale, as it features reinforced tight-row vamp stitching to prolong the longevity of the boots performance and for better overall shape retention. After all, when you buy a boot as special as this, you want it to last as long as possible.
The King features a high density heel counter integrated into it's construction, which offers protection and crucially stability, while the leather heel tap increases comfort and reduces pressure on the Achilles tendon.
A memory foam insert in the anatomically shaped sock-liner which sits under the heel offers further cushioning and improved shock absorption.
To match the release of the new Puma King Finale football boots, Puma have signed Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta. And we can't wait to see the technical midfielder sporting the new White/Black/Team Gold boots, after we spoke to Mikel and found out white boots were a personal favourite of his in our exclusive interview.
The new Puma King Finale football boots are available to order from 8th January, and you'll be able to pick up a pair of these white versions for around £100 GBP/ $150 USD.
