It's not a Mercurial or an F50, instead it's one of the most unique looking football boots we've seen for some time. Pele Sports have been developing their Trinity 3E football boots behind closed doors, and not concerned with current boots on the market, the designers told us they've developed the Trinity 3E based on ergonomic research and footwork analysis. Take a look and let us know what you think...
A brand new boot on the market is always going to draw a lot of reaction and a lot of comparison, and just one look at the Pele Sports Trinity 3E football boots and you notice that they're quite different. The boot market is now more competitive than ever, so to compete and stand-out from the crowd you need to offer something that no other boots does.
The Pele Sports Trinity 3E soccer cleats are the result of years of ergonomic research and footwork analysis. The ultra light Trinity 3E, which weighs in at an impressive 170 grams by the way, has harnessed the ability to perform a dual task: maximising a player's game and speed potential, and actually training your muscles as you play. The Pele Sports design team call this "tackling the 3rd element", hence the name '3E'.
Pele sports were focused to place injury protection and propulsion performance at the heart of their design mission. They've achieved this through extensive research and testing, as well as a combination of lightweight materials, unique support and innovative stud geometry. The boot has undergone the science treatment in the Biomechanics Laboratory at the University of Duisberg-Essen in Germany, the findings of which were that the Trinity 3E "Allows significantly faster movements when compared to other high performance speed boot products on the market."
The stand-out feature of the Trinity 3E soccer shoes is the unique asymmetrical stud geometry, designed to harness the natural mid-foot motion, and ensure the earliest possible acceleration and force generation. Quite simply, most football boots designed today offer a symmetrical stud solution, yet as any runner would tell you the natural movement of the foot isn't flat and symmetrical, and so the Pele Sports Trinity compliments the wearer's pronation and running gait with an asymmetrical configuration.
The studs work to distribute foot pressures and improve grip as the foot flexes and rolls naturally through 3D simultaneously. The out-plate is specifically designed to resist rolling over of the ankle, something we've all done on a football pitch with extremely painful results, and a factor for the most common injury suffered in football today.
One of the most revolutionary features of the outsole of the Pele Trinity 3E football boots, are the 3 heel studs rather than the standard 2 or 4. For this reason, the heel of the foot has been harnessed as an input to trigger early muscle activity for higher speed and agility movements, as Pele Sports have dispensed with convention and constructed what they feel is necessary.
In addition, the tips of the studs are more durable as the material is slightly softer, interesting concept we know, but this works as the studs are more compromising when they come into contact with the ground.
Pele Sports' thinking outside-of-the-box continues when you look the lightweight materials they've used through working with Formula One engineers, to strip away unnecessary weight and structure so the boot weighs-in a fraction above an adizero at 170g. The outsole is created from a hybrid of fibre reinforced lightweight polymers, and the new generation speed upper Symbioskin is a tri-laminate material engineered using 3 compressed elements to create a one-piece upper.
There's sure to be plenty of reaction and debate around the new Pele Sports Trinity 3E football boots, but the proof is in their performance and we can't wait to put them through a SoccerBible Play Test. To get hold of the Trinity 3E you can pre-order from 28th October as they will be available around late November, at a cost of around £130 GBP / $180 USD / €155 EURO at selected retailers.
