As far as international breaks go, that wasn't a bad one, certainly for the English. In amongst the courageous comeback in Berlin were adidas' latest innovations on a busy week of boot spotting action. Here, we pick out the best of the bunch. Yeah, it's a day late, Bank Holiday hangover to blame there.

Dele Alli (England) adidas ACE 16+ Purecontrol

One of the brightest stars of England's performance in their 3-2 win over Germany was Tottenham youngster Dele Alli. Installed as one of the key faces of the adidas ACE 16+ Purecontrol boot, Alli moved into the new "Shock Blue" colourway to play a pivotal role in the Three Lions' comeback – their first game wearing their new away strip.

David Silva (Spain) adidas X 15.1

David Silva was also sporting new adidas footwear as Spain played out a 0-0 draw with Romania on Sunday. The Manchester City midfielder switched into the latest X 15.1 update in "White/Semi Solar Slime" which in turn will be the final colourway for the first generation X series before the next edition arrives in time for EURO 2016 this summer.

Mario Mandzukic (Croatia) Nike Hypervenom Phinish II

The Hypervenom II has come in for some criticism in recent months. Lead players have switched out of the boot including Romelu Lukaku and Neymar, and a few of those remaining in the silo have heavily modified the upper to create an edition of the first generation boot. Mario Mandzukic and Ross Barkley have both banged on Nike's door to reach for the popular NikeSkin material, disguised by the 'Radiant Reveal' colourway.

Harry Novillo (Melbourne City FC) evoSPEED Fresh

Launched last week as PUMA widened their evoSPEED reach, the 'Fresh' uses a new mesh upper material that includes a special coating to allow heat to be released whilst blocking moisture getting in to tackle the fatigue of playing in hot conditions. Useful in Australia as Melbourne City's Harry Novillo demonstrated this week.

Femi Hollinger-Janzen (New England Revolution) Under Armour Speedform

Femi Hollinger-Janzen bagged himself a pair of 'Batman' Under Armour Speedform boot this week to show which side he's on. Leaning on their partnership with Warner Bros, Under Armour launched two superhero inspired football boots with comic strip designs on the uppers to celebrate the release of the new blockbuster film.

Zoltan Gera (Hungary) Mizuno Morelia Neo

Ex-West Brom and Fulham midfielder Zoltan Gera is still playing international football at the age of 36 for Hungary wearing the limited edition 'Origami Concept' Mizuno Morelia Neo boot. Released at the beginning of the year the design incorporates subtle graphics inspired by the famous Origami Peace Crane; an international symbol of peace.

Jamie Vardy (England) Nike Hypervenom Phantom II

Jamie Vardy, still buzzing off his world class flicked equaliser against Germany returned to training on Monday wearing Nike's latest disruptive pack that is scheduled to land in April. The limited edition 'Camo Pack' consists of Nike's full silo collection and Vardy is expected to wear his Hypervenom Phantom II versions against Holland on Tuesday night at Wembley.

Lukas Podolski (Germany) adidas ACE 16.1 Primeknit

Recent adidas ACE convert Lukas Podolski also switched into the new "Shock Blue" ACE 16.1 Primeknit against England on Saturday night. Germany's third most capped player plays the role of Super Sub/Senior Banter Distributor these days, but he got a run out in Berlin having switched from the adidas X silo he's been wearing for Galatasaray this season.

Juan Quintero (Colombia) Nike Tiempo Legend 6

Juan Quintero netted from the penalty spot in Colombia U23's 1-1 draw with USA this week. Quintero has created a custom colourway of the Nike Tiempo Legend 6, no doubt inspired by the colours of his home nation's strip to deliver a smart boot/kit combination on pitch.

Yuzo Iwakami (Omiya Ardija) Umbro

Another made to match boot/kit combo on show this week was supplied by Ouzo Iwakami who was sporting the Umbro Accerator to match up with his Omiya Ardija strip. Centred around control and lightweight comfort, the Accerator is an Umbro Japan exclusive silo – hence its lack of appearance on European shores.

Roman Eremenko (Finland) adidas 11Pro

Roman Eremenko got his customised game on as Finland played Poland this international break. The Finnish number seven has taken advantage of the split design on the discontinued adidas 11Pro to create a blue and red design on a boot that has now been replaced by the leather version of the ACE 16.1.

Jonathan Pitroipa (Burkina Faso) Nike Mercurial Superfly IV

The pick of the custom creations this week came from Jonathan Pitroipa and his bright green Nike Mercurial Superfly IV boots. Scoring the only goal of the game as his side beat Uganda in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying, Pitroipa gave his new colourway the perfect start.
