The final global boot spotting of the year is lead by PUMA's late December updates as the brand brush up the evoSPEED and re-design the evoPOWER. Winter break or full fat festive fixtures, here's what caught our eye over the Christmas period.

Olivier Giroud (Arsenal) Puma evoPOWER 1.3

Olivier Giroud switched into the next-generation evoPOWER model as Arsenal moved to the the top of the Premier League with a 2-0 win over Bournemouth. Launched in trademark CAMO style, the evoPOWER 1.3 was released in limited numbers ahead of the full unveil next month.

Samir Carruthers (MK Dons) Nike Hypervenom Phantom II

A lesser spotted colourway that sat alongside the Lightning Pack, the 'Green Strike' Nike Hypervenom Phantom II was worn exclusively by Barcelona's Neymar with Nike's pool of Hypervenom players staying in the equally as bright Orange editions. Samir Carruthers laced up a pair in MK Dons' 2-1 Boxing Day win over Cardiff.

Marko Arnautovi膰 (Stoke) Puma evoSPEED SL

Marko Arnautovi膰 continued his run of fine form by bagging the winner in Stoke's dramatic 4-3 win over Everton at Goodison Park. Arnautovi膰, who has recently signed for PUMA was sporting the new "Safety Yellow/Atomic Blue" SL edition of the evoSPEED, the brand's lightest ever match-fit football boot.

Hector Bellerin (Arsenal) Puma evoSPEED 1.4

Hector Bellerin also moved into the latest evoSPEED colour up but opted for the standard 1.4 editions over the lighter SL model. The Arsenal full-back was wearing the leather offering from PUMA as Arsenal bounced back from a heavy Boxing Day defeat to Southampton to beat Bournemouth at the Emirates.

Jimmy Ryan (Fleetwood) Nike Mercurial Vapor X

Fleetwood Town's Jimmy Ryan laced up in Cristiano Ronaldo's signature Mercurial Vapor X edition over the Christmas period. Launched by Nike to mark CR7's achievements the volcanic 'Savage Beauty' boot inspired by Ronaldo's homeland of Madeira kicked off a series of seven Mercurial Superfly CR7 boots, which will launch throughout 2016.

Emre Can (Liverpool) adidas X 15.1

After wearing blacked-out Nike Mercurial Superfly IV boots recently Liverpool midfielder Emre Can switched back into the adidas X 15.1 as his side beat high flying Leicester 1-0 on Boxing Day. The fact that Can has moved into the latest colourway suggests that he's renewed his contract with the brand.

Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea) Puma evoPOWER 1.3

Cesc Fabregas also switched into the new and disguised evoPOWER 1.3 Camo on Boxing Day as Chelsea's disastrous season continued with a 2-2 draw at home to Watford. The re-jigged and re-vamped evoPOWER design provides the most stream-line boot of the collection to date with a cleaner upper surface to deliver maximum contact with the ball

Anthony Kay (MK Dons) Mizuno Morelia Neo

Mizuno's most recent Morelia Neo colourway was on the feet of MK Dons' Anthony Kay this week. White/Blue, right? Not quite. The latest paint job goes by the title "Pearl/Surf the Web/Chinese Red", obviously. Another tidy addition to the Morelia Neo family, a boot that moves into its fifth year in 2016.

Hisato Sato (Sanfrecce Hiroshima) Hummel Serate AKM

Random one here. Sanfrecce Hiroshima's Hisato Sato was wearing the Hummel Serate AKM boots this week, a Japanese-exclusive boot from the brand and a silo that has so far failed to make it's way across to Europe. Sato was in action in the 95th Emperor's Cup Semi-Final against Gamba Osaka wearing his orange and blue design.
