Nike's 'Tech Craft' pack makes an on-pitch debut across Europe as the Premier League and Ligue 1 enter gameweek two and the Bundesliga returns. See who made the cut as we pick out the best of the latest, custom and most random boot selections of the past seven days.
Kilmarnock full-back Darryl Westlake has managed to get his hands on a pair of second-generation adidas Primeknit boots to kick off his second season in Scotland. Launched as "the best fitting football boot in the world" in April 2015 the Primeknit 2.0 was key to the adidas 'Limited Collection' although the word limited has to be used loosely as adidas released 10,00 pairs, still a rare spot on-pitch.
Nike dished out their new 'Tech Craft' pack to a limited number of their professionals this weekend and it was PSG's Blaise Matuidi who was hand selected to fly the flag for the Magista Obra. The 'Lightning Storm' boot has been covered in a layer of thin leather to create a traditional touch as well as a more classic colourway.
Matuidi's PSG team-mate Edinson Cavani was almost amongst few players sporting the Nike 'Tech Craft' pack this weekend. The Uruguayan striker was laced up in the Hypervenom Phantom II edition of the collection which again features a modified version of the boot complete with leather upper to offer a classic ball feel and a visual design similar to the launch colourway of the first generation boot.
First goals of the season don't come much better than a 50-yard lob in the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona. Mikel San Jose's stunner set Athletic Bilbao on the way to a crushing 4-0 first-leg win over the Champions League winners and he did so wearing the New Balance Visaro Leather, arguably the most underrated boot and colourway from the New Balance collection.
PUMa released a special edition evoSPEED 1.3 in July 2014 to celebrate their new relationship with Arsenal. Most PUMA contracted Gooners kicked off the season wearing the 'Tricks' colourway that complimented the home kit before switching into newer editions of the boot but Lokomotiv Moscow's Baye Niasse is still sporting a pair after overlooking the new fourth-generation.
The adidas 'No Dye' Pack boasted little support from professionals but Celtic's James Forrest gave the complete whiteout F50 adizero boot some on-pitch time in the Scottish Premier League this week. The environmentally friendly silo is created from a special material to highlight sustainability and offers the cleanest design on the market.
Blackpool may be in all sorts of trouble behind the scenes but Jack Redshaw's boot game is massively on point with a simplistic two-tone custom colourway on his Nike Tiempo Legend V boots. An all white upper sits on top of an all red soleplate complimented by red Nike Swooshes and lace for an overall crisp design.
Alexis Sanchez led the Nike 'Tech Craft' charge at the weekend wearing the Mercurial Superfly IV against Crystal Palace where he played a huge role in the winning goal. The eccentric "Hyper Pink" Flyknit upper is met by a welded layer of leather to create one of the most aesthetically pleasing combinations of colour and tradition and a collaboration of materials that will help the Superfly appeal to a wider audience.
Robust midfielder Francis Coquelin joined Sanchez in the 'Tech Craft' pack in Arsenal's 2-1 win at Selhurst Park wearing the Tiempo Legend V edition of the pack. Due to the Tiempo already using a leather upper the update was simply a new colour combination rather than a technology advancement but a tidy one all the same with the silo heading back to its roots with a predominately black design.
Mirjan Pavlovic's choice of boots was a fine one this weekend but that was sadly overshadowed by his tragic hairstyle, the less said about that the better. Let's focus on the boots before we go off on a vicious rant about man buns. With the evoPOWER now far into its second-generation adventure Pavlovic opted for the boot that started it all, the launch colourway of the first edition from January 2014.
