Neymar takes centre stage with his signature Liquid Diamond Nike Hypervenom on another busy week of cup and league football in both domestic and international competitions. Here's your who was wearing what from the past seven days.
Raul Albiol gave an early debut to the new Core Black/Silver F50 colourway at the weekend. In usual adidas fashion they've dropped a more low-key edition of their new generation speed boot to offer a more subtle alternative to the bright Solar Red launch colourway. The Core Black paint job officially lands in stores today.
Alex Song rarely wears the same boots in consecutive games and he switched back into his King Top 98 di boots for West Ham's trip to Anfield. Song has recently worn the Pantofola d'Oro Lazzarini and Nike Magista but is back in the unique Red/Yellow Kings launched to commemorate his uncle Rigobert's style at the 1998 World Cup.
Javier Balboa is using the Africa Cup of Nations to help his chances of gaining a boot deal. The Equatorial Guinea man has blacked out his 'Shine Through' Superfly IV boots most likely to catch the eye of brands in the hope of being offered a deal. Either that or they didn't have a 'Stealth Pack' version in his size...
Mauricio Pinilla's last minute goal handed Atalanta a 2-1 win over Cagliari at the weekend. The Chile striker was one of numerous players to switch into Umbro's impressive new lightweight speed silo as the brand barge into the speed boot market with the Velocita, a boot that has all the credentials to upset a couple of the big boys.
Two goals in two games for Neymar wearing his signature 'Liquid Diamond' Hypervenom. The Brazilian scored firstly against Atletico in the week before equalising against Villarreal on Sunday as Barca recorded back to back 3-2 wins. A second exclusive colourway for Neymar as Nike begin to lean firmer on their future main man as CR7 turns 30 this week.
We're not sure why PUMA are so determined to make Marco Reus an evoSPEED player but once again they've disguised his evoPOWER 1.2 with the latest Bright Plasma evoSPEED colourway to create a speed/power hybrid. The distinctive evoPOWER accufoam hosts the large 'PUMA' branding found on the evoSPEED as PUMA prefer to brand Reus as a speed player rather than power. To be fair he packs both assets so maybe it's the perfect boot.
Callum McManaman made his West Brom debut on Saturday wearing the adidas F50 adizero Messi Mirosar10 boot. The signature colourway was inspired by Messi's home town of Rosario in Argentina and is worn by the Barca man in all La Liga games this season. It's the closest West Brom will get to signing Messi but they failed to inspire the Baggies as they went down 3-0 at home to Spurs.
Samuel Eto'o made his tenth club debut at the weekend as he turned out for Sampdoria wearing a blacked-out version of the evoSPEED 1.3. Eto'o's contract with PUMA expired during his time with Everton and has yet to agree a deal with any other brand and isn't feeling generous enough to gift PUMA some free advertising. Take what you can get Samuel boy, you aren't getting any younger, even if you tell everyone you are...
Diego Costa mixed up his footwear for the League Cup Semi Final against Liverpool. Rather than slipping into the new-generation F50 Costa switched into the all-white version of the previous editions. Fortunately for Emre Can and Martin Skrtel the whiteout versions were only released in firm ground studs...
Tunisia's Ahmed Akaich laced up in the 2010 Fast Forward version of the Mercurial Vapor IX this week. The four boot collection was released in the run up to the 2014 World Cup as Nike celebrated famous World Cup Vapor colourways of old. Akaich's editions were based on the Vapor VI worn in South Africa.
Ben Yedder was another adidas player giving a sneaky early debut to a new F50 colourway this week. The Toulouse man snagged a pair of Black/Solar Green editions which are scheduled to hit stores this week but are unlikely to receive any heavy professional player support on pitch. Fair to say the new-generation adizero colourways are on point so far.
Seamus Conneely isn't buying into the whole Hypervenom hype, the Accrington defender has remained in the launch colourway of the last ever T90 series. The Laser IV was launched in September 2011 and retired in June 2013 in favour of the Hypervenom silo leaving many players feeling that Nike no longer offer a 'power' styled boot.
