We countdown our SoccerBible Top 20 football boots from 2014. After a year that will be remembered as one of the most groundbreaking in the history of the football industry, there was no shortage of choice but we've whittled it down to just 20.

It's a list that caused days, weeks, months of heated, passionate and somewhat sweary debate at times in SBHQ. Straight out of the SoccerBible Magazine Issue No.2 here's the first half of our top boots of the year from 20 to 11. Get ready to rate and slate...

20 | Pantofola d'Oro Lazzarini Deluxe Pro - If you're wondering what real Italian art looks like, you're look right at it. Despite having used the same formula for over a century, Pantofola d'Oro are still finding new ways of keeping us on our toes. Not a boot for everyone, but the Lazzarini Deluxe Pro is right up our alley.



19 | Nike Mercurial Vapor IX Fast Forward '06 - Nike's countdown to Brazil included a boot dipped deliciously in World Cup nostalgia. Inspired by Ronaldo's 2006 Mercurial Vapor III and launched as one quarter of the 'Fast Forward' pack, this boot came with a back story and design worthy of a podium place.



18 | Mizuno Wave Ignitus 3 - Mizuno followed World Cup procedure by allocating an exclusive gold colourway to their lead athlete, Keisuke Honda. Perfect execution and another fine example of Mizuno's talents in the design studio.



17 | Umbro UX-1 Concept - There are blackouts, and then there's the Umbro UX-1 Concept. When you slap a true stealth-wrap on your hottest silo of the year, you can't go far wrong. It's been a steady year of rebuilding for Umbro and they've left us wanting a lot more.



16 | PUMA evoPOWER Stampa - A piece of marketing genius that announced PUMA's capture of Mario Balotelli to the world. The PUMA evoPOWER Stampa flew off the shelves in January as one of the hottest and most unique limited editions of the year.



15 | Nike Tiempo Legend V - We still can't put our finger on what makes this design work so well, we've just accepted that it does. A clash of two strong pallets created the hottest Tiempo colourway on one of the year's best all-round performing boots.



14 | Nike HyperVenom Phantom Premium - When you get handed a gold boot to wear exclusively for the World Cup, you know things are going your way. Nike captured the dreams of a nation in a single design with the Gold/Volt/Black Neymar colourway of the HyperVenom.



13 | adidas F50 adizero Battle Pack - Unmissable graphics and the hottest pro-roster on the planet. The F50 adizero delivered where it mattered most for adidas this summer - in front of goal. For the second World Cup running the adizero topped the goalscoring charts.



12 | PUMA evoPOWER 1 Leather - One of the unsung boots of 2014, the Metallic White/White/Green evoPOWER 1 just worked.The boots matched all round performance with pristine style. Wear them once though and it's a different story.



11 | adidas Samba Primeknit - It's still early days for the adidas Primeknit and such an innovation maybe deserves a higher place in the list, but for everything that the Primeknit brought, we were left wanting more. Let is loose adidas.
