Countdown to kick off and the new season colourways are dropping around pitches on the pre-season scene. From old school Predators to limited editions to brand new models and paint jobs, here's our look at the week in boots.
Joe Hart's attempt at disguising football's most distinctive boot made us laugh in the week. The City stopper who has been contracted to Umbro for the majority of his career taped over the Nike Swooshes as he tested out the Magista Obra and Nike Premier GK gloves.
QPR youngster Coll Donaldson gave us a timely reminder of how good the old-school adidas Predators look on pitch. Donaldson laced up in the black/red/white Predator Absolute originally launched in 2006 as the Premier League new boys traveled to Southend for a pre-season friendly.
Man City forward and Umbro athlete Toni Duggan slipped into the next GeoFlare colourway as England hammered Sweden 4-0 in Hartlepool. The second generation GeoFlare features a redesigned double diamond that dominates the outstep of the snow camo colourway.
Another year, another season for the adidas World Cup. Over 30 years at the top of the game and the boot will go again in the 2014/15 season. Brentford's Tony Craig was keeping things old-school with a decent match up with his home shorts and socks.
Kolo Toure may have fell one place further down the pecking order at Anfield with the arrival of Dejan Lovren but he got some game time in the States this week. Toure was sporting the latest Warrior Skreamer colourway to be worn by their athletes to kick off the new season.
Edin Dzeko has taken a liking to the Messi exclusive Battle Pack F50 worn in by the Argentinian in Brazil. The dash of blue on the front of the boot matches up nicely with the City home kit but it's still strange to see a high profile player wearing another high profile players signature boot.
The Nike Stealth Pack II was a huge hit when it was released last month but won't feature on the feet of Nike's contracted players. Rangers' Lee Wallace was wearing the Vapor X editions as his side lost 2-0 to Derby in front of 8,000 travelling Rangers fans.
Non-league outfit Eastleigh took on Northampton Town at the weekend with the pick of the boot spotting action coming via Eastleigh's Yemi Odubade wearing the PUMA V1.08 speed boot that first graced pitches in 2008. He's kept them in good nick.
The adidas Pitch Black pack saw darker colourways lands across all the brand's silos as alternatives from the on-pitch colourways. Leeds' Lewis Cook has opted for the Predator Instinct editions over the traditional black/red/white colour-up that will be worn by adidas' lead Pred players.
Clubs isn't the only thing Nemanja Vidic has swapped this summer. The ex-United skipper has left his PUMA boots in Manchester to kick off his Inter Milan career carrying Swooshes on his Tiempo Legend V boots.
Reading forward Nick Blackman has got hold of a pair of Neymar exclusive HyperVenoms to kick off the new season in. Blackman is no stranger to a pair of limited editions but he'll have to firing in goals left, right and centre if he wants to pull these off!
Sweden Ladies took a beating by England in a friendly this week but Kosovare Asllani's women's specific Predator Instinct boots caught our eye. The bronze/orange design isn't the best looking boot you'll see this season but unique nonetheless.
