After a season that saw Southampton finish 8th in the league with a club record points tally the Saints will be looking to build on that success and they'll be doing so in their famous red and white stripes. The new kit will be a welcome return to tradition after last year's controversial move away from the stripes came under heavy criticism from fans.
More interestingly however is the Saints decision to oversee the design and manufacturing themselves. Last year Southampton signed a deal with adidas but this was surprisingly cut short a few months ago and instead of seeking out a new supplier they've gone down the DIY route.
This is not the first time Southampton have done this though, the club made their own kits under an in-house 'S' label between 1999 and 2008, a period that saw them also finish 8th in the Premier League and make the 2003 FA Cup final before swiftly dropping through the leagues.
The new shirts features a v-neck collar, plain red sleeves and has their famous nickname 'Saints' stitched into the shirt just below the back collar. Along with the red and white striped shirts, Southampton will be playing in plain black shorts with red and black socks.
