The last boot spotting before the 2014 World Cup threw up a few surprising boot choices as players settle on their footwear before the action kicks off in Brazil. Limited editions, customization and the odd blast from the past.

Lester Peltier (Trinidad & Tobago) adidas F50 Crazylight

Trinidad & Tobago took on Argentina as Messi and co played out their final preparations ahead of their group stage opener against Bosnia. The pick of the boot spotting didn't come via the feet of Messi's exclusive F50 but on the feet of Trinidad & Tobago's Lester Peltier wearing the limited edition adidas Crazylight - the world's lightest ever football boot.

Neymar (Brazil) Nike HyperVenom

Neymar turned out for Brazil training this week wearing a customised Nike HyperVenom. The Brazilian star's boots featured a Nike Mercurial Superfly sole-plate but he's since switched back into the HyperVenom sole-plate. With just days left ahead of the opening match against Croatia it looks as if Neymar still hasn't settled on a preference.

Alfredo Talavera (Mexico) Under Armour Clutchfit Force

Mexico goalkeeper Alfredo Talavera has been sorted out by Under Armour with a prototype pair of Clutchfit Force boots complete with Mexican coloured Under Armour logo to wear in Brazil this summer.

Maximo Banguera (Ecuador) Lotto Solista III

Another goalkeeper who caught our attention this week was Maximo Banguera. The Ecuador stopper laced up in the new Lotto Solista as his side drew 2-2 with England in Miami. The third generation Solista continues to feature reflective qualities in the upper of the boot for a unique visual effect under lights.

Giorgios Tzavellas (Greece) Nike Premier

One of the coolest boot spots of the week came from Greek player Giorgios Tzavellas who has completely customised his Nike Premier boots. The Premier was only released in firm ground but Tzavellas has added soft ground studs and an old school leather tongue to take the Premier back to it's early days.

Antonio Cassano (Italy) Diadora DD-NA2 GLX 14

Italy's veteran striker Antonio Cassano has been hooked up with an Italian styled Diadora DD-NA2 GLX 14 colourway to rep in Brazil. Cassano has been loyal to his fellow countryman Diadora and will be one of very few players sporting the brand at the World Cup.

Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast) Nike Mercurial Vapor X

Didier Drogba is gearing up for what will most likely be his last ever World Cup with Ivory Coast. The ex-Chelsea legend has overlooked the Nike Mercurial Superfly in favour of the new Mercurial Vapor X, which of course does not feature the Dynamic Fit Collar.

Toaster Nsabata (Zambia) adidas adizero F50

Completing a trio of goalkeepers in this week's boot spotting is Zambia's Toaster Nsabata. Toaster slipped into the second generation adizero in his side's friendly with Japan where he made a string of bread and butter saves. Yeah, I wish my name was Toaster too.

Chisamba Lunga (Zambia) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX Tropical

Nike dropped three crazy Mercurial IX designs in the run up to the World Cup labelled the 'Tropical Pack'. The collection is inspired by the rain-forests of Brazil but was rarely spotted on pitch in the pro scene although Zambia's Chisamba Lunga was sporting a pair against Japan this week.

Kim Shin-Wook (South Korea) Mizuno Morelia Neo

South Korea's Kim Shin-Wook will kick off the World Cup wearing the prestigious 'Made in Japan' edition Morelia Neo. The premium silo is created with the highest grade materials and sits as the top spec in Mizuno's locker.

Carlos Queiroz (Iran) Nike Tiempo Legend IV

Iran coach Carlos Quieroz carried out a training session this week wearing the Euro 2012 Clash Collection Tiempo IV. The Portuguese coach will lead Iran into their fourth ever finals where they'll play Argentina, Bosnia and Nigeria before going home.
