Ireland youngster Georgie Poynton has hung onto his first generation adidas Predator LZ SL's. Poynton laced up in the silver/green/black editions to match up with his county's famous kit colours as they took on Germany.

Leo Messi slipped into his exclusive F50 as Barcelona beat Celta Vigo 3-0. Released to celebrate the four time Ballon d'Or winner breaking Paulino Alcantara's all time goal scoring record of 369 goals for Barca, just 370 pairs were released, with Messi taking the 370th pair.

John Arne Riise (Fulham) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX Fast Forward '06

Champions League winning full back John Arne Riise is staring Premier League relegation in the face with Fulham this season. The ex-Liverpool defender wore the adidas F50 in his Anfield days but is these days wearing the Fast Forward 06 editions of the Nike Mercurial.

Joe Cole (West Ham United) Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII

Joe Cole still remains in the previous Nike Mercurial Vapor generation. The Vapor IX hasn't appealed to the West Ham winger who has now been sporting the same pair of boots since he switched into the Mercurial in 2012.

Another player who is happy with his tried and tested boots is Dimitar Berbatov. The Monaco striker has remained in the first generation adidas Predator LZ since his transfer from Fulham in January. Berba must be a traditional Predator fan with that colourway.

Bastian Schweinsteiger jumped the gun as Bayern Munich sealed the Bundesliga title this week. The German midfielder switched into the new Earth Pack adizero F50, which adidas have scheduled their contracted players to wear on pitch from April 1st.

The adidas 11Pro SL is one of the most underrated boots on the market in our opinion. Light, traditional leather and an impressive collection of slick colourways the 11Pro SL ticks a lot of boxes. Canada's young 'keeper Rylee Forster was sporting the black/infrared editions against Costa Rica this week.

The white/black/cyan adidas adiPURE 11Pro somewhat slipped under the radar on release but Swansea's Leon Britton grabbed hold of a pair. The clean colourway was a favourite on earlier versions of the boot and still looks good on pitch in the Premier League.

We're starting to see a few more players opting for the lighter version of the Predator LZ recently. The boot is the perfect blend of the F50's lightweight factor and the Predator's shooting technology and that combo has appealed to Bury's Daniel Rose.
