Never has there been a more enthralling title race in the Premier League, four teams are right in the race with the favourites changing each week. Chelsea lost three points and their heads, Manchester City survived a scare and Liverpool and Arsenal sense an opportunity that this could finally be their year.
Football on the continent isn't exactly boring either – an El Clasico next weekend, AC Milan are still rubbish and Messi is still good. Here's a look at the ten things we learnt from this weekend.
Foy has an issue with Chelsea – In the 9 games Foy has taken charge of involving Chelsea the man in the middle for Chelsea has sent off 7 players. That's an astounding figure, and Mourinho may have a point when he says the referee should be banned from their games for the rest of the season. Whilst the Ramires red was justified, if Willian's warrants a red card then you're going to be sending off 5 players per game.
Unhappy Hunting Ground – Jose Mourinho seems to have a problem winning at Villa Park – he has not done so in five league attempts now, and the loss of three points, two players and a manager has put Chelsea on the back foot in the title race.
More Moyes Misery – The defeat against Liverpool was shocking - but more so was the admittance from Moyes that the Reds were the favourites going into the game at Old Trafford. Brendan Rodgers expressed shock at that, claiming he would always back his side at home because ‘Anfield is Anfield’ and we doubt Fergie would hand the tag of favourites to their rivals either.
Sherwood's Lost It – Along with the confidence of the players and fans it would seem. The manager’s reaction after going a goal down and throwing his jacket away, not to mention his press conferences of late are disturbing to say the very least. Smart money would be on him being paid off at the end of the season.
Liverpool and Arsenal are in the race – Yes it is advantage City, and now that Chelsea have slipped up you have to see the Citizens as title favourites, but Liverpool will have a huge say in the title run as both sides come to Anfield and Arsenal are finally looking like the Arsenal of old.
Class is Permanent – Steven Gerrard may be reaching the twilight of his career, but he's still got it. The Liverpool captain is still world class on occasions and showed it tenfold against Manchester United at Old Trafford. The medal that he wants most of all and that is missing from his collection could well appear come the end of the season – or next.
Demichelis Thrown a Lifeline – Now Manuel Pellegrini has no choice but to start Demichelis. He simply has to play Joleon Lescott and the disaster that is Martin Demichelis at the back given the rightful sending off of his skipper – and it is time for the faith shown in the Argentine to be repaid. Either that or it is the start of a very shaky period at the back for City.
Remember when AC Milan were good? – The club fell to another loss in Serie A and are nowhere near the top four. Add to this the fact that their appointment of Seedorf is now looking rather dodgy, the slating of Mario Balotelli and the general debacle surrounding the club and it looks a long road back for the former giants.
Pirlo's Pearler – The magician scored a wonderful last gasp goal for Juventus and given the performance of the side not to mention the fact they should not have won the game, it shows just how strong Juventus are – and more to the point how classy Pirlo is. From free kicks to penalties, the Italian legend is faultless and a joy to watch.
Magic Messi – Another record smashed as Leo becomes the all-time top scorer at Barcelona. Love him or hate him, there is no doubting that the player is one of the very greatest of all time, and his record at Barcelona looks like it will be standing for a very long time. After all, he's only 26. What a way to warm up for the Clasico.
