On another unpredictable weekend of results we've searched through the last seven days of football across the planet to pick out the boots that have caught our eye. From limited edition releases, custom colourways and blacked out designs. It's time of the week again...
Ruben Botta (Inter Milan) adidas Predator LZ |
If you don't like pink boots and prefer black ones then surely it makes sense to just get a black pair? Perhaps Ruben Botta felt he could pull a pair off, worn them to training and got rinsed by his teammates and now he's backtracking? The Inter Milan man has coloured in his first generation pink LZ's and now they just look messy. |
Heather O'Reilly (USWNT) adidas adizero F50 |
United States Women's National Team forward Heather O'Reilly was spotted wearing the ladies specific adidas adizero F50 colourway at the weekend ah she helped her country to a 7-0 rout over Russia. O'Reilly notched the second goal of the game in her bright turquoise and orange F50's. |
Sammy Ameobi (Newcastle United) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX CR Galaxy |
Sammy Ameobi is known to us for his collection of football's and love of something a little bit different. The Newcastle striker likes to mix it up with his choice of boots and was laced up in Cristiano Ronaldo's signature Galaxy Mercurial for his trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday. |
Thomas Ince (Crystal Palace) Warrior Gambler |
Tom Ince made a perfect debut for Crystal Palace at the weekend by scoring in his new side's 3-1 win over West Brom. Ince is one of the lead players for Warrior this season and despite featuring heavily in the Superheat launch was wearing a blacked out version of the Gambler silo at Selhurst Park. |
Joseph Yobo (Norwich City) adidas Predator Incurza |
Joseph Yobo made his return to the Premier League with Norwich City this weekend. What could have been a baptism of fire turned into a decent debut for the ex-Everton man as he helped the Canaries keep a clean sheet against Man City and in turn a valuable point in their battle against the drop. Yobo's boot choice was an interesting one as he opted for the rugby version of the Predator, the Incurza. |
Tom Davies (England U16) adidas Nitrocharge |
England under 16's were in action at St George's Park against Spain and the pick of the boot spotting action came via the feet of young Everton midfielder Tom Davies who was sporting a complete black out pair of adidas Nitrocharges. Normally blackouts are reserved for prototypes but the mystery element combined with the old school look always makes them stand out. |
Reuben Reid (Plymouth Argyle) PUMA evoPOWER Camo |
The limited edition PUMA evoPOWER Camo boots were released to tease in the new evoPOWER silo. Although they were only worn by PUMA's contracted athletes for a few games and available to the public in very limited numbers Plymouth's Rueben Reid has picked up a pair to give himself one of the most unique boots in the Football League. |
Michael (Fluminese) adidas adiPURE 11Pro |
Another player who has given his footwear the blackout pen treatment, albeit a much tidier job than Ruben Botta's is Fluminese's Michael. The Brazilian has taken customisation into his own hands by blacking out the upper of his adidas adiPURE 11Pro boots for a more reserved look. |
Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) adidas adizero F50 |
After training in the unreleased adidas Crazylight F50 this week Gareth Bale was back into his old generation adizeros as he scored in Real Madrid's 4-2 win over Villarreal. The Welsh Galactico had moved into the Samba F50 but decided to revert to the synthetic electricity version of the previous model. |
