Global Football Boots Spotting - 13/01/13 - Football News

With winter breaks over it was business as usual in Europe this week. In amongst all the transfer rumours there was some football to be played and we've scoured the planet to bring you our pick of the best boot spotting action from the past seven days including new, custom and unreleased boots.

Paul Pogba (Juventus) Nike CTR360 Maestri III

Juventus remain 8 points clear at the top of Serie A after dispatching Cagliari 4-1 at the weekend. Paul Pogba switched his CTR colourway to lace up in the flash pack versions. The Flash Pack has started to appear on pitch recently and the all white CTR rounded off a clean look with the Juve kit.

Keisuke Honda (AC Milan) Mizuno Wave Ignitus 3

Keisuke Honda made his debut for AC Milan on Sunday at Sassuolo wearing the Mizuno Wave Ignitus 3. The move from CSKA to Milan would have been welcomed by Mizuno who will be pleased to get another of their top players on the major European stage. It was far from a dream debut for Honda as Sassuolo's teenage striker Berardi notched all four goals as Milan went down 4-3.

Layvin Kurzawa (Monaco) NikeiD Tiempo Legend V

Layvin Kurzawa loves an Nike iD boot. We've seen the Monaco defender wear numerous custom version of the HyperVenom to match up with his Monaco kits but now Kurzawa has taken his design skills to create a unique Tiempo Legend V colourway. The black and volt combo is definitely right up Nike's street and would be a popular release should Nike latch onto it.

Roy Krishna (Wellington Phoenix) Lotto Solista

Lotto launched their second Solista towards the end of last year to celebrate the countdown to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The world's first totally reflective football boot took on a Brazil themed design but hasn't seen much on pitch time on the professional scene. One player who has been sporting the boot is Wellington Phoenix's Fijian defender Roy Krishna.

Kevin-Prince Boateng (Schalke 04) Nike HyperVenom

Early in the week we spotted Kevin-Prince Boateng training in the next Nike HyperVenom release at Schalke's winter training camp in Doha. After getting a feel for them all week Boateng took the blue/black/volt boots into his side's friendly against fellow German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt in Abu Dhabi.

Craig Bellamy (Cardiff City) Warrior Superheat

One of a number of high profile players to sign for Warrior since they launched their attack on the Premier League was Craig Bellamy. The Cardiff striker, along with Thomas Ince, has moved into the Superheat boot - Warrior's new speed silo, a decent match up for Cardiff's red home kit.. which should be blue.

Carles Puyol (Barcelona) Nike Tiempo Legend IV

Carles Puyol is a man who knows what he likes. The Barcelona defender often reverts back to a preferred boot and that was the scenario in midweek as his ditched the new Tiempo Legend V in favour of his lucky fourth generation boots. Brands often suggest which boots players should wear, normally the newest colourway, but when someone like Carles Puyol (a man who rocks up to award galas in flip flops, shorts, t-shirt and a barnet reminiscent of a freshly bathed cocker spaniel) says he'll wear what he wants, you let him.

Marcelo (Real Madrid) adidas adizero F50

Marcelo has struggled to let go of his 'Enlightened Pack' F50's. He's often spotted wearing them in training and where adidas would prefer him to remain in the latest generation adizero Marcelo's boot choice tells us he's not a fan of the bright colourways and would rather wear a traditional look boot.

Jonjo Shelvey (Swansea) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX

Another player who seems to prefer a black boot is Swansea's Jonjo Shelvey. The Swans midfielder had been wearing a black and white custom pair of adidas Predator LZ's in recent weeks but switched into the black/white Nike Mercurial Vapor IX for his side's trip to Old Trafford at the weekend.

Adam Lallana (Southampton) PUMA evoSPEED 1.2 Leather

Southampton captain Adam Lallana laced up in the latest evoSPEED colourway at the weekend to score the only goal of the game against West Brom. Whereas all of PUMA's evoSPEED players wear the synthetic versions Lallana has been sporting the leather editions, sacrificing a few grams for extra comfort.
