The List | Five Managers We Would Like To See In The Premier League - Football News

The January transfer window might be just about to open, but that doesn't mean we are talking about the players who we might see in the Premier League soon. This week, it is all about the managers – or more accurately the departed ones.

Steve Clarke and Andre Villas Boas have become the latest two to lose their jobs and it looks as if Malky Mackay could be shown the exit too. All the talk is about who may take the reigns at Tottenham, West Bromich and possibly Cardiff, so with that in mind we've come up with a list of five managers who we would love to see in the Premier League.



Diego Simeone – The Atletico Madrid man is not just a top manager, you only need to look at his side and the way they are playing to notice that, but he is also one hell of a character. From the enthusiasm he shows on the touchline to the micromanaging of every kick, Simeone is certainly entertaining to watch. Despite losing his star striker in the summer, the manager has taken his side from strength the strength and could go clear at the summit of La Liga this weekend.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær- The baby faced assassin has been making some ground as a manager and has a growing reputation. We in England of course remember the former forward from his Manchester United days, and that 1999 Champions League final. For sentimental reasons, seeing him manage in the Premier League would be something special. Given the links between the manager and West Brom, that could well become reality.



Marcelo Bielsa – The experienced manager has certainly done the rounds, but has not graced our shores with his presence yet. He is a character that's for sure and has pedigree both as a player and a manager. After a sensational season with Athletic Bilbao, things did not go as planned the year after and Bielsa – who Pep Guardiola hails as an inspiration - is currently without a job. Considering Pep also called him the best manager in the world in 2012, you would think he'll be snapped up pretty quick.



Pep Guardiola – For the sparing matches with Jose Mourinho alone, the former Barcelona boss simply has to come to England one day. Manchester United were heavily linked with the coach, and given how well Bayern Munich are doing, not to mention how poorly United have been, it makes you wonder if the wrong choice was made by the Old Trafford board. Guardiloa has won everything there is to win in La Liga, and looks set to do the same with the Bundesliga. Premier League next?



Antonio Conte – The Juventus manager is one of the best around, and even managed to see his side lift trophies when spending the season watching from the stands. Putting even Jose Mourinho’s laundry basket antics to shame, the manager has certainly been in trouble for various indiscretions, but we would love to see him light up the Premier League. Given Juventus are struggling for cash, not to mention the fact that he has already won all the domestic titles, a move may well be now or never for the manager come the summer.
