We take a look back at a busy September on SoccerBible and pluck out the top features you might have missed in a month packed with new boots, shirt releases and whatever else we've been up to. Brands have been getting stuck right into the new season with the releases coming thick and fast so here's a quick recap...
Nike landed their first serious assault on the 2013/14 season by dropping an unmissable Hi-Vis collection across their boot silos, FC247 collection and to tie in nicely with the reveal of the Nike Incyte Hi-Vis matchball as we enter winter. The CTR, Tiempo, Mercurial and HyperVenom were all slapped with the Hi-Vis paint brush and all features on pitch from last weekend.
Pantofola d'Oro stamped their marked on the 2013/14 season with the release of a trio of colour updates on their Sirio and Piceno collections. The stripey Sirio took on a couple of colourways to match up with Sampdoria's kits as well as a bolder pink/black design.
The Piceno range adopted a white upper to reverse the last batch of releases that were predominately black. Yellow, red and green splashes were added to the heel of the boot where the words 'Pantofola d'Oro were added to give the boot further identity.
At the turn of the month we we're invited out to Italy by Pantofola d'Oro to have an exclusive look around their famous boot factory tucked away in the mountains of Ascoli Piceno to see Italian craftsmanship at it's very finest. The home of traditional boot making and the only brand still hand-producing football boots in Europe.
After the dust had settled at the start line of the new season adidas dropped new paint jobs on the LZ, Nitrocharge and F50 as well as an LZ SL version. All of adidas' players have now switched into the new colourways and we had a cheeky look at how they looked on pitch by lacing up in them before they started appearing on the feet of pros.
Four European giants launched new kits in time for the Champions League's return this month. Bayern Munich and Real Madrid were first to unveil their alternative kits, Gareth Bale was roped straight in for the official photoshoot of Real's orange third shirt and Schweinsteiger and co kitted up in Bayern's away shirt inspired by beer and bratwursts.
Manchester City followed suit by kitting up in a classy Nike third shirt to kick off their Champions League campaign by tonking Viktor Plzen 3-0 and Barcelona revealed an all black third shirt with a touch of Catalan to complete their 2013/14 kit collection.
PUMA also sunk their teeth into the Champions League by lacing up Sergio Aguero and Cesc Fabregas in new Autumnal colourways of the evoSPEED and PowerCat. Both players managed get on the scoresheet as Barca and City strolled to comfortable wins. A strong start to the season by PUMA who also added Santi Cazorla to their line-up.
September was rounded off in spectacular style as the world's most famous boot was given a second colour update three decades after it was first launched in 1982. The adidas Copa Mundial was on the receiving end of a modern makeover and landed in a limited edition white/black colour.
