If you've been following SoccerBible for a while now you'll know we always catch up with players around product launches and throughout our travels we've built a pretty cool collection of signed boots. Ok, it's a bit of a slow news week, but it's always decent to whip out some classics and have a good reminiscing session. Here's a few we've plucked out from our wall of fame...
Leo Messi | adidas f50 micoach - When the f50 micoach launched in 2011 Leo Messi was installed as the lead player, we sat down with him to talk a little bit about the boot and how his relationship has evolved with adidas as his profile became bigger. He happily signed a pair for us before banging in a hat trick against Viktoria Plzen in the first game he wore them. They sit pretty high up in our wall of fame.
Cristiano Ronaldo | Nike Mercurial Superfly III - In 2011 we were invited over to Madrid by Nike for the launch of Cristiano Ronaldo's new Mercurial Superfly III, a boot which Nike told us was like nothing seen before and they were right. CR left his mark on our pair of the crazy design and the CR signature ranges haven't slowed down since then.
Pele | PUMA v1.06 - The main man. Pele. This boot stopped the Messi/Ronaldo arguments in the office about who should be top of the wall of fame. Still regarded as one of the greatest players of all time our PUMA v1.06 boots were signed by the Brazilian legend in the lead up to the 2006 World Cup when he was a PUMA ambassador, before he launched his own brand.
Steven Gerrard | adidas Predator Mania - The Predator Mania is considered the greatest ever Pred and we've got a pair of Steven Gerrard's muddy, match worn, signed gun metal Mania's from 2002. Complete with his old LFC squad number 17 personalised onto the tongue these Preds rightfully take their place in our top memorabilia.
Wayne Rooney | Nike T90 Air Zoom III - He's not quite on the same level as the previous three players but nevertheless Wayne Rooney is still one the greatest English strikers in recent years. These signed Nike T90 AZT III boots are the same model Rooney wore when he scored a hat trick on his Manchester United debut.
Cesc Fabregas | PUMA PowerCat 1.12 - PUMA gave Cesc Fabregas his own unique PowerCat boot in 2011. We've had the pleasure of interviewing Cesc on a few occasions during his Barca and Arsenal days and he's one of the most laid back players around. Top player, top man, always happy to sign a pair of boots.
Sergio Aguero | PUMA Camo Razzle Dazzle - These were very close to being the boots Sergio Aguero wore to score that famous last minute goal to hand City the Premier League title. Aguero was supposed to wear the Razzle Dazzle against QPR but a last minute decision from PUMA resulted in Aguero wearing the standard v1.11 editions. Aguero signed a pair for us during the tease campaign of the new evoSPEED and this unique colourway deserves another shout out.
Didier Deschamps | PUMA King Classic Pro - Didier Deschamps was a long time PUMA King wearer and in fact still wears the boots for coaching and training. In a long distinguished career Didier racked up winners medals at the World Cup '98 and Euro '00, not to mention 2 Champions League trophies, 2 French Ligue titles, 3 Serie A titles and an FA Cup. Not bad. Anyway, he signed this pair of King Classic Pro's for us back in 2005 and they sit on the sub zero wall in the office. Legendary player, legendary boot.
