An emotional last weekend of the Premier League season, legendary players playing their last games before retirement, seasons coming to a close all over Europe, throw in some top new boots taking to the field for the first time and we've got ourselves a decent boots spotting. But who was wearing what? Time to find out...
David Beckham (Paris Saint-Germain) adidas Predator LZ |
David Beckham reportedly played his last ever game on Saturday and adidas sorted out a unique pair of new Preds for Mr adidas Predator himself. An emotional goodbye from Beckham who played his entire career wearing the famous three stripes and picked up trophies in 4 different countries. The one off Preds were personalised with all 4 of his kids' names on top of a Great Britian themed colourway. Legend. |

Jack Rodwell (Manchester City) adidas Nitrocharge 1.0 |
Notorious bench warmer Jack Rodwell made a rare appearance for City against Norwich and notched a brace in the new adidas Nitrocharge. This weekend marked the first on pitch appearance for adidas' new silo and it looks the absolute dogs on pitch. As for Rodwell, after yesterday he might be looking to get more than the odd League Cup run out next season. |
Radamel Falcao (Atletico Madrid) PUMA evoSPEED 1.2 |
Falcao wrapped up a brilliant season in style as he helped Atletico Madrid beat Real Madrid in their own back yard to lift the Copa Del Rey. Falcao was debuting his new PUMA evoSPEED 1.2 boots after previously choosing* to wear the Camo versions in the build up to the official launch. *Getting paid what was probably an absolute bomb to look like a bit of a tart for a couple of games to build some hype. |
Samir Nasri (Manchester City) adidas Predator LZ |
The new Pred has received mainly negative reactions since it's unveil last week but we might be upsetting a few people when we say it doesn't actually look that bad on pitch. Samir Nasri was amongst a whole host of players that gave us our first look and we reckon once adidas stick a new colourway on them they might just start growing on a few people. |
Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur) adidas f50 adizero |
Bale must be looking forward to a rest this summer, his back must be killing from carrying the entire Spurs squad all season and he produced the goods once again against Sunderland with a trademark screamer. Wearing the new f50 colourway Bale cut in from the right and smashed one in the top corner to give Tottenham a 1-0 win but it wasn't enough to clinch a Champions League spot. Will Bale be playing in the UCL next season anyway? If it was his last goal for Spurs, it wasn't a bad one. |
Hulk (Zenit Saint Petersburg) Mizuno Morelia Neo |
Mizuno's lead man Hulk was laced up in the new tremendously named Autumn Glory/White/Diva Blue colourway of the Morelia Neo for Zenit Saint Petersburg's penultimate game of the season against Volga. In our opinion the Neo is one of the most underrated boots in the game and after already dropping a black colourway we reckon Mizuno deserve the chance to start whacking some bright colours on their speed boot. |
Kyel Reid (Bradford City) adidas f50 adizero Messi |
Bradford City appeared at Wembley for the second time this season and this time they made up for their 5-0 loss to Swansea in the League Cup final and secured a place in League One next season by beating Northampton 3-0 in the League Two play off final. Until he gets adidas to release his own Reid collection the Bradford winger will have to make do with wearing the signature Messi f50 colourway... |
Panagiotis Tachtsidis (Roma) adidas Nitrocharge 1.0 |
Spell check is having an absolute fit on us for sticking Panagiotis Tachtsidis in this week's boots spotting. The Roma man was flying the Nitrocharge flag in Serie A as his side beat Napoli 2-1 to finish the season in 6th place. The Nitrocharge has a real dominant on pitch presence and we're tipping it to become a big hit next season. |
Paddy Madden (Yeovil Town) Pantofola d'Oro Squadra |
Another player who helped his side secure promotion at the weekend was Paddy Madden, the Yeovil striker was on the score-sheet as The Glovers saw off Brentford 2-1 to seal a place in the Championship next year. We love a Pantfola d'Oro spot and that must make Madden the first player to score at Wembley wearing Pantofola's. |
