With the turn of 2012 already approaching, Pantofola d'Oro have shifted their attention to making 2013 another year to remember. Fresh from the studio, we've received two early samples of a new design model from the Italian brand.
The stripey number hasn't hit production yet, but could be made available in a series of unique colourways next year. To hear our thoughts on the boots, Pantofola d'Oro sent us their earliest design works. After some discussion, we've given them the thumbs-up!
If you think you've seen this design before, you'd be right. A similar boot was made exclusively for Lapo Elkinn – the grandson of Juventus owner and a partner of Pantofola d'Oro. Lapo's boots, designed in black and white, were created for an annual charity game between the Nazionale Stilisti - 'National Designers' - and the Genoa All-stars.
The story goes that Lapo requested a pair of boots that would catch the eye and show-off the leather craftsmanship capabilities of Pantofola d'Oro. The original boots were unlike anything seen before. The Pantofola d'Oro design team are now working on bringing this boot into the market. Something we'd love to see!
Pantofola d'Oro have always taken a unique approach to boot design. Their recent reputation is built on creating top quality leather boots. Looking forward, they are designing models to increase on-pitch awareness while maintaining their staple style.
As for colourways, the striped design creates great opportunities. Colourways based on club colours could be one idea the brand play around with. We're excited to see where the Pantofola design team take this boot!
