The kit looks back 25 years to the anniversary of a historic season (90-91) in which Inter Milan claimed their first UEFA Cup which sparked an unprecedented run of success in the tournament. In the space of seven seasons the club claimed three UEFA Cups, adding the 1993-94 and 1997-98 trophies.
That classic chest band has been a recurring feature of Inter Milan away shirts since the Sixties, and notably in 1990-91. Following this tradition though with a fresh take as the subtle black and blue tonal print depicts the scales of Il Biscione. Synonymous with Milan since the 13th century, the snake features on the emblems of two of Milan’s ruling families. So not only does the shirt give nod to the 25th anniversary of the first UEFA cup win but also the close ties the club holds with the city of Milan.
Containing the latest performance innovations from Nike, the Inter Milan away kit will be on sale from nike.com and other online stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer from 9th July.
