Nike Pack Round-Up 2014 : Football Boots : Soccer Bible

It’s been a year that will go down in Nike Football history. After an epic twelve months we take a look back at how 2014 became a year marked by seasonal pack collections.

They say good things come in small packages but for Nike great things coming in big packages and 2014 has seen the release of some killer boot collections that landed with almighty crashes. As we take a look back at what dropped feel free to rate and slate... 



This year saw the Tiempo celebrate its 20th birthday. For a boot that holds a stronger relationship than any other with Nike Football, its makers celebrated the boots second decade of existence by producing the limited edition Tiempo Legend XX pack including a special edition Tiempo Legend V and Tiempo 94 sneakers. Just 500 packs were released worldwide, with the Legend V featuring some unique touches including a reflective Nike Swoosh along with the personal touch of adding “XX” onto the heel.

In March Nike brought some warm colour for the spring season with the introduction of the 'Spring Collection'. Each silo Nike offered was given a make over with bright and vibrant colours, the special boot of this pack was the Mercurial Vapor XI 06, which was based on Brazilian Ronaldo's World Cup boots from 2006. Inspired by the Brazil home kit the boot carried a close resemblance to the original Vapor, but with all the benefits of modern day technology. 

With the World Cup in mind, Nike went on to introduce the 'Mercurial Tropical Pack'. Three Vapors; each given a tropical renovation to keep in line with the Brazilian World Cup. All three boots were released in a firm ground edition and only 2500 pairs made in each of the colourways. Each colour representing a different concept of the Brazilian rain-forest.

The summer marked a special occasion for Nike as innovation reached its peak with the introduction of the 'World Cup Pack'. The headliners need no introduction, the Magista and the Mercurial Superfly. Both boots had been created with 'Flyknit' technology as its main party piece. Allowing Nike to bring a new improved fit, feel and traction put the boots out there as a technological masterpiece. Both Magista and Superfly got the red carpet treatment with Andrés Iniesta and Cristiano Ronaldo launching both boots.



To kick of the 2014/15 season Nike introduced of the 'Stealth Pack'. Each silo on the end of the dark treatment with just some small touches of colour on each shoe. The Stealth Pack was arguably Nike's strongest looking and most popular collection of the year, even without any official on-pitch support.



After the 'Stealth Pack' we saw Nike release the 'Fall 14 Collection' with each silo getting a bold colour update. The colours used in the pack maximised on-pitch visibility with a mixture of bright individual and mixed colours coming together. The pack from Nike was certainly up there with the 'World Cup Pack' in terms grabbing eye balls. The highlight of the pack had to be the Nike Tiempo Legend in its wicked Neo Turquoise/White/Hyper Crimson colourway.



To see out the year Nike brought out the festive 'Shine Through Pack'. A predominantly white collection with all the Nike Swooshes dressed in individual colour co-ordinated safari print to create a dynamic standout feature that was projected on the blank canvases. A typically stylish way to see Nike bring down the curtain on another action packed year of headline acts.
