With the release of new Spring '14 pack, Nike's on pitch colour updates have come to end for the 2013/14 season, well at least until the World Cup. Here we recap the HyperVenom's first full season showcasing all the official colurways worn by Nike contracted athletes in the European domestic leagues.
Nike launched the HyperVenom back in May with a huge showcase in Rio de Janerio. A whole new silo that replaced the long standing T90, the HyperVenom is designed for the 'New Breed of attack' players who not only need a boot for speed but also a boot that can help them create space in and around the penalty area.
Black/Citrus - Fitting the HyperVenom bill better than anyone was Brazil and Barcelona star Neymar and as a result he was Nike's core player throughout the development of the HyperVenom. As the silo's key athlete it was only fitting Neymar should launch the boot in Rio, which he did in the bold Black/Citrus launch colourway.
Lime/White/Black - The second paintjob to hit the HyperVenom was the White/Lime/Black colourway. launching just over a month after the silo's initial release, the update was the first to introduce a third colour and was Zlatan Ibrahimovic's colourway of choice for the short time he wore the boots.
Electro Purple/Volt/Black - Released as part of the Hi-Vis collection Electro Purple/Volt/Black colourway saw Nike's key HyperVenom athletes through the winter months. Although it was the HyperVenom's third on pitch clourway it was the fourth release following the Charcoal/Crimson/Black design of the stealth pack.
Neo Lime/Black - Hi-Viz was followed by Neo Lime/Black, Nike's last update of 2013 dropping just before Christmas. The bold colourway had a different feel to its predecessors thanks the use of two similar shades of the same colour on the boots upper. Our first peek at the new paintjob came as Neymar laced them up in a Barcelona training session.
Blue/Volt/Black - Next up Nike flipped the switch on the hi-vis colurway releasing a more demure Blue/Volt/Black edition. By the time the silo's seventh update launched midway through January we had already been given a good eyeful as Nike tesed them out in various on pitch appearances courtesy of Kevin-Prince Boateng, Adriano and Robert Lewandowski.
Yellow/Black/Volt - The boots last official on pitch update of the season came as part of the Spring '14 collection and featured a Brazilian themed colourway and a distinctive silver tongue, a theme that runs throughout the collection. The bright volt and yellow drop has been worn by the likes of Wayne Rooney, Neymar and Higuain as Nike crank up their Brazil 2014 countdown.
