Since the turn of the year Nike's legion of top class shot stoppers have all been wearing gloves in a stylish Black/Dark Army/Volt colourway. Brad Guzan, David De Gea and Tim Howard have all donned the new paintjob in recent months but here we take a look at those of Arsenal's Polish keeper Wojciech Szczesny.
The innovative Nike GK Premier SGT, Szczesny's glove of choice, uses pre-curved bio-align technology to reduce stress on the hands and ensuring they are always positioned in the catch-ready position. Also in full effect is the 'Sipe Grip' technology that utilizes a laser-teched pattern on the palm for enhanced grip on fast spinng balls in wet or dry.
Nike Touch tactile nodes ensures a on the inside of the fingers enhance ball feel while mesh thumb ventilation allows cool airflow across the back of the hand and between the fingers. An easily adjustable wraparound wristband secures the hand for a comfortable fit whilst also reducing scuffing of foam.
Unlike the current boot trend of giving products a World Cup inspired colourway Nike have opted for a more subtle colour update across their gloves, including the Premier SGT, with a military-esque Black/Dark Army/Volt paintjob. Blending various shades of green and black produces one of the best looking gloves we've seen in a long time.
The Nike GK Premier SGT goalKeeper gloves are available now from selected online stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. What do you think think of the new gloves? Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
