When you've got your own range of shin pads, that's when you've made it. Nike have given a second colourway to their Neymar Mercurial Lite shin pads. Nike's most popular pad has been given the signature treatment in honour of Barca's Brazilian forward and released in a new silver/yellow/black paint job.
Most players want just one thing from a shin pad - to hardly notice you're wearing them and that's why the Mercurial Lite guards are a favourite with amateurs and professionals. Lightweight, durable and simplistic, the Mercurial Lite's tick every box and the fact the Neymar editions look stylish is an added bonus.
If you're turning as many defenders inside out as Neymar does then you're going to get a good kicking once in a while. The Mercurial Lite guards are as solid as they get. The low-profile shell is bonded to a dense foam backing for excellent impact diffusion. The shin-guards have an anatomical left/right design so if they feel uncomfortable then you've probably got them on the wrong legs.
With Nike leaning heavily on Neymar as the Brazil 2014 World Cup approaches we wouldn't be surprised to see him in signature boot before the tournament is over. One last word on the pads, they come with Dri-FIT fabric sleeves, so you'll save a few quid on sock tape too. Result.
