Nike have given us a behind-the-scenes look into the technology that has gone into engineering their latest match-ball, the Ordem. The Nike Ordem is the brand's most advanced ball to-date, armed with a new visual design and the latest performance innovations. The short video gives us an insight into the making of the Ordem.

"The Nike Ordem is a modern football for the modern game. When we looked at how the game is getting faster we wanted to provide a new tool for the player to excel." This was the mission statement set out by Nike Ordem team that included Product Manager Rafael Ortega, Innovation Lead Scott Berggren and Design Director Todd Smith.

The Nike Ordem is designed to offer advanced levels of flight control. "What's probably most important is the flight of the ball" says Ortega of the Ordem's NIKE AEROW TRAC grooves and Micro-Texture that are engineered to grip and channel the air producing a consistent flight. "We have tuned this ball specifically to fly truer and straighter."

Todd Smith, Design Director details another big factor in the Ordem's design - touch. "Touch is one of the biggest separators between a good player and a really great player, so it's really important to have a really good first touch. The material and the construction we have really create a nice soft feel that is easy to collect."





In their quest for the perfect ball, Nike have put together over 50 different combinations and have tested over 2000 samples so it's no wonder the Ordem is receiving great feedback from players. "I actually had a player say for the first time I've found a ball that will let me play the game I want to play".
