Kevin-Prince Boateng became the latest player to lace up in Nike's next HyperVenom release this week as he was spotted wearing the new blue/black/volt colourway at Schalke 04's winter training base in Doha, Qatar.
KPB has yet to settle on his preferred Nike silo this season after kicking off pre-season in the CTR switched into the Hypervenom, Mercurial, Tiempo IV, back into the HyperVenom, the new Tiempo V and now back into the HyperVenom again. Got that? Good. Boateng's curiosity has lead him to get hold of a pair of the latest HyperVenoms to wear as his side make the most of the Bundesliga's winter break by pitching up camp in Qatar.
Boateng isn't the first player we've spotted training in the unreleased colourway which is expected to drop next month. Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge and Barcelona's Adriano have both given us glimpses of the new colour update on the training ground this month and Robert Lewandowski jumped the gun altogether by wearing them in competitive action against Hertha Berlin.
The new blue/black/volt paint job will land as Nike's 7th colourway on their latest silo that was launched back in May last year. Nike's contracted HyperVenom players are expected to start slipping into the new colour combo towards the end of January, which will replace the more eccentric Neo Lime drop that they're currently wearing.
Nike created the HyperVenom as their new breed of attack and supplied the silo to some of their deadliest strikers. Despite the likes of Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic remaining in the Mercurial the HyperVenom currenlty features in the top 5 scoring boots in the Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A and Premier League racking up just under 250 goals.
