Nike have launched a range of player gloves centred around their top six clubs in Europe. We're bang in the middle of winter and the Swoosh have landed gloves that feature club details on the palms from Man United, City, Juventus, Barca, Inter and Arsenal.
Whether you're one of those players who wears gloves in all conditions, in the winter months or just at training Nike's new collection is a stylish one that edges towards a cooler look than the type of replica that can come across as 'fan boy' material.
Each pair are designed in the clubs colours and look almost neutral on the back of the hand. The club crest appears on the inside of the wrist and a club graphic is placed on each palm, which is created so when a player puts their hand together it will display a full graphic.
The Nike HyperWarm gloves are Dri-Fit to keep your hands dry and warm. The gloves feature silicone zones on the palm that are placed strategically to aid handling the ball when taking throw ins. The Barca gloves draw inspiration from the club's Catalan roots and for all you Gooners out there Nike have gone for 'Gunners' on the palm. Safe choice with the split palm design, doubt they'd sell as many if one glove just had 'Arse' on it.
Italian giants Inter Milan and Juventus are represented in the collection. The classic black and white design adorns the Juventus gloves with 'Juve' sprawled across the palms. 'Internazionale' is placed on the flag of Milan to create the Inter Milan gloves and as with the whole collection gold details feature on the thumbs and index fingers.
The Manchester City gloves feature their famous blue moon with the club's initials placed on top where as the Manchester United are in the traditional red, white and black and finished off with the letters MUFC. Stylish little collection from Nike that we wouldn't be surprised to see released to reflect their national teams.
The new Nike Player Gloves are available now from selected stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. What are your thoughts, good idea? Let us know. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
