Totti's Tongue Trend - Nike Customise Tiempo Legend V - Football News

Roma's legendary long serving striker Francesco Totti slipped into the new Nike Tiempo Legend V for the first time last night as his side drew 2-2 with AC Milan. The boot headlines may have been stolen by Balotelli's newspaper disguised footwear but Totti's Tiempos were also packing some unique customisation.

Nike have supplied Totti with a personalised pair of Tiempo Legend V boots that feature a distinctive fold over tongue, elasticated underneath the boot to hold it in place. The 37-year-old has seen a fair few boots throughout his career and in a game where innovation is constantly breaking down barriers Totti knows what he likes and sticks with it.

Roma's number 10 has been wearing boots with fold over tongues for the best part of his career, from older versions of the T90 to Diadora and the adidas Predator, which featured elasticated tongues. Where as the Tiempo has evolved and left the classic tongue behind Totti has decided to keep his and Nike are continuing to create custom pairs to his personal specifications.





Just last season Totti had been wearing a blacked out Nike Tiempo Legend IV with a custom elasticated tongue. Despite moving into the launch colourway of the fifth generation boot Totti has again added his own touch to the boot in the shape of a folded over elasticated piece finished in the same metallic silver found on the standard edition Tiempo Legend V.
