Earlier this year Nike added the Premier to their line-up, a classically styled and modern interpretation of a true heritage boot. Originally released in a defining Black/White colourway, Nike have now released three fresh designs inspired by three of their most recognised international teams; Brazil, England and France.
Like most, we were huge fans of the original Premier launch boot. As Nike set their sights on Brazil 2014, they've decided to add an injection of colour to their modern classic. Each boot features a one colour upper - Tour Yellow, Vivid Treasure Blue and Crimson.
Denis Dekovic, Footwear Design Director for Nike Football added some insight into the new pack. "The launch colorway has been extremely well received by our players from the elite level to grass roots football so we decided that we'd inject some vibrancy into the boot by bringing out these three colourways."
The technology behind the Premier features a premium leather upper which sets the benchmark for softness and touch - the feel is unlike any other boot in the game. The boot also uses Nike's most anatomical last to-date, as seen on the Nike Hypervenom, which helps place the foot closer to the ball and ground for greater foot-to-ball feel and touch.
The sole plate design provides excellent traction on a variety of surfaces. Stud-tips match the colour of each boot and sit upon a white based sole plate. The sock liner of each boot also features a graphic element referencing the year or years each country was crowned World Champions.
Earlier this year we spoke to Nike's Collin Eder about the original breif behind the Tiempo Premier model. He explained “What we wanted to create was the softest most comfortable, best fitting leather product that we could. The first thing players notice is how soft the leather is, they love how it forms to your foot and maintains that softness."
The new Nike Tiempo Premier football boots are available from selected stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. What do you think of the new designs? Let us know. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
