Nike's stylishly packaged Spring 2013 collection has given us two new helpings of the CTR360. Sitting alongside the refreshingly toned Mint/Black/Lime colourway comes the super-slick White/Crimson/Black Maestri III - another polished addition to the growing CTR360 range.
We make the White/Crimson/Black colourway Nike's seventh instalment to the Maestri III franchise. So far this season, the Nike CTR360 Maestri III has been subject to some strong designs, with professionals wearing both the lead and supporting colourways. Let us know how you think this new colour scheme compares.
A recognised fan favourite, the CTR360 is up there with the best boots in the game, worn by midfield supremos including Andreas Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Ganso, Jack Wilshere, Tom Cleverley and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. It's not just midfielders who recognise their performance benefits. Mario Balotelli and Carlos Tevez are both long-term wearers of the CTR silo.
The CTR360 Maestri III was Nike's first boot to feature ACC technology – a feature that has now been included across each of Nike's four silos. An idea born out of discussions with professional players including Andres Iniesta. The ACC benefit of consistent touch and feel in wet and dry is created by a special treatment during the development of the upper materials, to deliver the consistent feel on the ball at all times.
The Nike CTR360 Maestri III is engineered to deliver enhanced control, traction, support and lightweight comfort using next generation Kanga-Lite synthetic material. The revamped pass-pad on the Maestri III featuring a 3D control pad, uses separate strips with fins of varying sizes to hug the arch and maximise contact with the ball.
An asymmetrical lacing system enlarges the area used to control the ball and a new streamlined design enhances touch sensitivity. A dimpled texture on the mid-foot doesn't just offer an aesthetics but also increases friction, once again aiding the players control and touch. The FG boots also use a more responsive sole-plate featuring a 360 degree stud placement; perfect for a midfielder's constant turns and cuts.
The White/Crimson/Black Nike CTR360 will be on pitch this week. Keep an eye out for CTR360 athletes including Sergio Busquets and Sami Khedira who are both potential candidates to wear the boots. They are available to pre-order now ahead of an April 1st launch. Let us know what you think online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
