Limited Edition Nike Mercurial Vapor IX CR SE - Football Boots

The race is on. Nike have produced just 100 pairs of the limited edition Mercurial Vapor IX CR SE - the company's most exclusive football boots to date. The special boots, designed to celebrate Cristiano Ronaldo's record breaking 2011/12 season, have been distributed to key Nike retailers worldwide.

Here at SoccerBible, we've landed one pair. As for the 99 others, you might not find them on sale as a first come, first serve product. Global online retailers including Pro-Direct Soccer are running a Facebook lottery, where you can put your name forward to buy a pair. A chosen few then will have the option to purchase the boots for a cool £300.00.






Whether you're an avid boot collector or just a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, the chance to own this extremely limited release is one that won't come around again. To put it into perspective, last year Nike released 2012 pairs of the original GS - a boot that sold out within a matter of hours. For the Mercurial Vapor IX CR SE, Nike have pulled the numbers way back, producing just 100 pairs - these boots will be like gold dust.





It was back in January when Nike first broke their silence on the boots. They were confirmed as a commemorative release in celebration of Cristiano Ronaldo's incredible 11/12 season with Real Madrid and Portugal. They announced a CR Mercurial IX that would feature a bold CR7 graphic and a series of numbers recognising his achievements.





Ronaldo first wore the boots on Jan. 6th in a La Liga match against Real Sociedad and for a further two fixtures, before moving into the Fireberry Mercurial V9. Since then, anticipation has been building ahead of the boots Feb. 7th launch date. Now for boot fans worldwide, it's a chance to own one of the most sought after boots on the planet.





They feature seven numbers on the lateral side, reflecting CR's goals and achievements during the 11/12 season. "Last season was a very special one for me, helping my team and country achieve success." Ronaldo said. "It’s great to celebrate these achievements and also have a great pair of Mercurial boots to recognize the moment."
