If Nike left you wanting even more following the anticipated reveal of the Mercurial Vapor IX, this should satisfy your appetite! Welcome the third Nike Vapor IX colourway in two days as one of the biggest boot launches of the year continues to roll out ahead of their official on-pitch launch this weekend.
The latest iteration of the Mercurial Vapor has made a real splash. If the snazzy Sunset and Fireberry colourways were a touch too flash for you, feast your eyes on the super-slick Platinum/Black/Green Nike Mercurial Vapor IX – a boot that will have Vapor fans queuing in their numbers! Take a look and let us know what you think.
Of course this isn't the standard, re-juiced Nike Vapor IX. For so long, the Mercurial line has been a one-upper speed boot. But now, much like adidas offer synthetic and upper alternatives for the f50 adizero, Nike will release an exclusive line of colourways using their teijin synthetic upper which offers increased leather-like properties.
The first MV IX of this collection is the Platinum/Black/Green colourway. Sitting aside from the standard synthetic Mercurial Vapor IX collection with Nike's all new Speed Control Texture, this boot uses the same soft upper as featured on the CR Mercurial Vapor VIII and Ronaldo's super-exclusive White/Red CR Mercurial Vapor IX.
Design wise, Nike have hit all the right buttons with this colourway. Purists might frown at the green Nike branding on the inside of the heel, but with a slick white upper and black swoosh, this is one good looking boot! We don't think they'll be too many Nike fans finding faults with this design!
For now these boots wont be stealing too many headlines from the lead Sunset and Fireberry colourways. Don't expect to see the Platinum/Black/Green Vapor IX on pitch until March with Cristiano Ronaldo the possible candidate to be given exclusive access to the boots.
The new Platinum/Black/Green Nike Mercurial Vapor IX will be available to pre-order from selected online stockists starting February, retailing worldwide for around £170.00 GBP / €230.00 EURO / $250.00 USD.
