Capturing the attention of boot fans like only the Mercurial range can, Nike are ready to kick-off 2012 with these Purple/Silver Nike Mercurial Vapor VII football boots. Following up the CR7 and Volt editions is no easy task, but Nike are expected to once again make headlines. So take an up-close look at the new Vapor 7's and let us know what you think...
Nike do well at coordinating an on-pitch boot launch, so scheduled for the 17th December we can expect a Mercurial take-over with the games favourite speedsters turning purple! The new Purple/Silver colourway is yet another exciting addition to football's most vivid boot silo, as Nike's Mercurial roster continues to unleash the most audacious colourways.
Nike seem to save their most eccentric and eye-catching colour schemes for the Mercurial range, which is perhaps one of the reasons they have such a cult following! The new Nike Mercurial Vapor VII football boots have picked up where the previous versions left off...making headlines! Whether it's Cristiano Ronaldo or Neymar, or perhaps more fittingly the Barcelona duo of Alexis Sanchez and Pedro, Vapor's have their reputation because they are designed for speed.
The new Purple/Silver Nike Vapor VII soccer shoes are set to take the spotlight and ignite the boot world once again, in a time when it seems the rivalry between adidas and Nike has never been fiercer! This bold eye-catching new colourway is nothing short of what we've come to expect - a bold
design that won't shy away from the cameras. And with an eventual redesign in line for Euro 2012, this new colourway is sure to make an impression by distinguishing itself from
previous designs.
No other football boot screams speed quite like the Nike Mercurial range. The new purple lightning bolt on the new Nike Mercurial Vapor 7 cleats
is slightly toned down, matching the main upper of the boot. Although
we're all in favour of a one-tone colourway, we don't know how much this
serves Nike's claims to enhance on-pitch visibility.
The Tepex glass-fibre chassis, that has become a Vapor favourite and looks especially cool in the SG editions with the slightly tinted outsole, brings you close to the Vapor's enhanced traction elements. The Vapor Traction II design means the forefoot FG studs are shaped to offer multi-directional traction, with central arms for acceleration/deceleration and optimal sprint traction. On the SG versions you once again have the Mercurial studs, but with the addition of the toe-off grip for enhanced acceleration.
The new Purple/Silver upper of the Mercurial Vapor VII is constructed from the same Teijin micro-fibre that is designed to improve comfort, flexibility and help a players touch. The upper is enhanced with specifically placed 'ball-control coating' on the lateral forefoot, to aid control of the ball at top speed.
The Vapor 7's FG sole-plate includes the same direct injected studs that incorporates 8 cored-out studs to provide a dramatic 12% weight reduction whilst enhancing strength and durability. Acceleration and sprinting is further enhanced by concentrated forefoot zonal spikes, inspired by tracks spikes to optimise grip at toe-off for an extra burst of speed, giving you an advantage over the opposition.
You will be able to get your hands on a pair of the new Purple/Silver Nike Mercurial Vapor VII football boots from January 1st. Expect to see Nike's latest colourway on pitch from this weekend (17.12.11). The boots will retail worldwide for around £150 GBP / $240 USD / €170 EURO.
